You dumb, sluts... I was the only person predicting an undefeated season. And I'll gladly bet any of you cowards that we end the season with a trophy.
Again, I will ask, was this a narrower field?? The attack seemed to run into clogged lanes much of the time. I also think Bush was rusty, especially on the first two goals.
Yeah, no shit. Get back to me in September and October on season results. I'm not gonna piss and shit my pants on a daily basis because we aren't rumored to be spending eight figures on a striker tomorrow. Know who else isn't doing that? Wilfred Nancy, what an idiot he is, amiright?
IDK if we are top 5 or not. More like top 10. I loved the Gazdag move, but he has brought absolutely nothing. No threat. Little creativity. Yikes. Hopefully it is just in his head and he breaks out of it. There is an eject button on deals, right? We have needed a CB, a CM, and a CF all year. And the latter 2 since Morris left. Zawadzki is a fantastic squad player but not good enough to be a full time starter at CB or CM. Part time at RCB, CB, and CM is fine. Bigger CFs just eat his lunch, as Agyemang did last night. Nancy correctly moved him out to Moreira's spot later. Cheberko wasn't a ton better (did we win a 50/50 header all night?) Chambost has played well this year but Nagbe is in decline. And with Rudy MIA Zawadzki has been locked into CB. I thought Gazdag was worth a look in CM, but it did not go well. Sejdic is a journeyman at best. Jackson is a backup. As are JRR and Aliyu, thiugh the latter gotca good goal last night. We need Cucho AND Ramirez replacements. We led the league in headed goal last year. Charlotte had lost 5 in a row and could have easily hung 8 on us last night. Beil missed the game we won. Three way tie for 5th on PPG with Orlando & SD.
Bush did not play. That was Hagan. And while rust may have been a factor, I cannot put either goal on him. In fact, he likely was our best player. It was 7-8 without him.
This doesn’t shock me. It would be worse without Nancy, but with him, that mirrors what I think we are without a Cucho/Ram replacement. The best team of the second tier, or the bottom team of the top tier. Nancy was quoted in the dispatch about not necessarily going after a #9 as a necessity. That is such an odd thing to say since we just signed gazdag who works best (and at a DP level) when paired with a decent 9.
Im glad to see your comments on Zawadzki. There has seemed to be a large and growing fanboi cult.around him as God's gift while it has seemed to me that he was an OK defensive midfielder when playing next to an all-time great and average at best playing on the back line. And last night, tbh, he got his ass handed to him over and over. He's just not a man marker. Mike Lapper hes not. Wormgoor would have been an improvement; he couldn't cover either but he'd gladly break your leg if you started to get past him. Thank goodness we weren't forced to use him in goal last night, although Hagan sucked so.badly that Im not entirely sure he would have been worse. Then again, Nancy prefers filling the 18 with guys who he has no.intention of playing (maybe Sun Country Airlines gives miles) instead of bringing Bush along; Im grateful that it didn't bite them.in the butt again. Pray for Moreira. Without him the Crew is in real trouble. Might as well send out the second round draft pick, or use Amooond-sun for all the difference it makes.
Or perhaps he just doesn't wanna tank the confidence of his attackers by telling the world they suck without a #9. It's coach-speak, nothing more.
I'm not losing my mind over this. Start with the fact that, as I've said before, Charlotte is just a weird bogey for us away. Turf. Odd happenings. Kinda cuckoo. Bigger picture: The offense that everyone here wants to say is terrible and needs help right now this second or we're never going anywhere... scored two goals on the road last night. We lost this match more because of our defense than our offense. If we can ever get Camacho healthy and push Zawadski back into the midfield where he belongs, that will help. Now I'm not going to say we're great. I'm not going to say we don't have issues. We do. But we only have two losses in the league this season. And look around the league right now. The only teams I can classify as "crushing it" right now are Vancouver, Cincy and Philly, and you could throw Orlando in there as well on recent form. And deep down, is anyone deathly afraid of any of those teams? Miami has the same number of points in their last two games as we do, and only one win in six, and none in the last four. This is MLS; teams have struggles at times. My biggest concern at this moment right now is Rossi. He started the season like a house of fire, and now he seemingly can't do anything right. I think other teams have figured out that it's a decent strategy to take him out of the match and take their chances with the Crew trying to score by committee. That'll continue until Gazdag decides to start earning his money.
That’s probably a better strategy than Nancy posting pictures of an exit sign on instagram and tagging JRR.
They were selling kids sized T-shirts with that thing (mascot) on it. If they sold adult size ones, I would have bought one just for the goofiness aspect.
Pre-game they had the kid in or on the throne in front of the supporters section. Then a knight with a torch came out to light the Olympic err, some soccer ball flame. Then the 'king soccer ball' mascot came out on the opposite end of the field. The whole thing was kind of hokey. But, I guess an outsider at a Crew match for the first time, may say similar about Crew fans singing 'Wise Men Say'. (Which I initially did not like before the match, but now have grown to like singing it as the players walk out).
Bush ? Hagen was playing , your glasses bad or your memory lol But yes Hagen looked rusty his positioning cost him but the defense was bad and he made several good saves last night
