Regardless of what happens in the final two games against LA, todays results ensure that the Quakes will finish with one of the top two records in the league. (Baring two 6-0 losses and a 6-0 Rapids win).

Thus, even if we finish behind LA, we will have home field in both the first and second round*. With home field, we should be able to get the job done no matter how much we suck on the road.

    * - Unless MLS is really stupid and gives the east winner home field in the semis, which I don't think they do despite giving them "second seed". Garber didn't respond to my email question.

East champ gets home field even if their opponent has more points.

Really? Even in the semis? Where is this confirmed?

(John Schrader did just state this though.)

If this is true, and if the home teams win next week, then New England will be the home team all three rounds of the playoffs!

Ok, I got email back from MLS HQ and as Noah stated, the eastern conference winner gets homefield all the way to MLS Cup.

    Thus we'd better beat LA.

Don't worry too much, guys !
Whoever is going to become East Champions, they'll likely be eliminated in the first round.
