    hmm Almeida gets a suspension

we blew a decent chance to reach the top
but hell I'd rather see us lose today than the game against Olympiakos.

Not unnormal in sport after a so sucessfull week like the last one.
Congrats to Hannover on a dedicated performance. Important is
to improve in Athens and use the chances consequently.

The whole Werder squad is fantastic, it's a great pain in the ass that Schaaf always uses the same players, I mean he should give all the players like Niemeyer a long playtime adn the results will be even greater. I do really believe we could've beaten Oly. if players like Harnik and Niemeyer had played too.

For such a turbulent first half of the season – with the injuries and fight between Sanogo and Alberto – it's great to be tied for the points lead. BM coming up soon, too! Go get 'em, Werder.

Yeah, I hope we will be capable of beating Bayern after the winter break. This damn break always costs us a certain amount of points within the Bundesliga.
I also hope that we find our form until the Braga and the hopefully coming matches in the UEFA Cup, because I think we should win it this year. :)

Probably yes. Vranjes is a good back-up player, but no one for our first line up. Still I am quite happy with him staying in Bremen.

Yeah,we need such people like him in th team.He is a good footballer, even if does not show it all the time, but as a backup he really good, especially with our injury problems we need good backups.

Not BL team related, but reserve team.

Werder Bremen cancelled the contract with goalkeeper talent
Robert te Loeke after some problems with his contract.

He gave Werder the information the information,
that he was without club, but played after his stay at FC Utrecht
for another Dutch team and so Werder would have to pay a fee.

Borowski leaves to join Bayern Munich at the end of this season.

Well then, I always knew he was one of that money loving guys. The way he played recently, he is no loss for Bremen and won´t help Munich at all.

I just hope that we will extend the contract with Jensen now.

The performances had to do with injuries,
so IMHO he can´t be blamed for it.

That he leaves as a free transfer is unlucky,
but Werder can´t be offended for it.

KA offered him a good contract, but Borowski wanted to earn
as much money as Diego earns with his new contract.
This means, he wanted his old salary doubled.

It´s a bit sad, because he played for Werder youth teams
and the reserve, but at least he said now directly where he will play
next season. This gives the club some time to intensively scout
    for a follower.

In my opinion, this is a good move for Bayern and Borowsi. Klinsi gets a player he wants for free and Borowsi will be able to eat money for breakfirst, dinner and lunch.

I love that song "Geld essen" from K.I.Z., btw. :D

And Jensen will not be half the player that Borowski already is in the long run. He indeed is one of the very few truly overrated Danish nt players. He is our Owen Hargreaves. :)
That said, I know that Borowski struggled since WC06 and that Jensen had quite a few strong matches for Werder this Hinrunde (Madrid!). But in the long run, he will not cut it with Werder since he ain't good enough. He's a Vranjes!

I am bitterly disappointed... he's one of my favorite players in the team
hopefully Borowski can show the same professional attitude just like Hildebrand did with Stuttgart last year, giving all his best in the remaining days (he's back from injury right?) and perhaps assisting us to win some trophies!

Don't worry about Borowski. He's always injured anyway. When he moves to Bayern, Bremen will be in the same situation as always: finding someone to play in Borowski's place.

I understand the disappointment because he is a Bremen youth player, but let's take that money we spend on his salary and go get a new player. Preferably one that plays at least 50% of our games.

Sebastian Prödl joins Werder in the summer.
I'd like to quote Christoph Daum here:

"In the Bundesliga we'll see if he becomes a footballer or if he stays an Austrian"

Substitute keeper Christian Vander said today to a local newspaper,
that he wants to leave Werder this summer.

I think, that´s a chance for Werder to bring more depth to this position.
I was always scared when Wiese got in tricky situations, because
Vander is a "Fliegenfänger" (flycatcher (?)).

But i am not sure, what to do. Signing a quality substitute or giving
the youngs lads like Pellatz (21 years) or Mielitz (18), who did well so far
in the reserve team after Pellatz injury a chance.

He was angry, because of the support during injury time
(no new contract offer), but the things seem cleared.

He gets a good offer by Werder and other clubs
seem to have interest in him, too.
Let´s see, how he decides (stay, please).
