hope that's the case. I read Craig Murray's blog and my heart about dropped.

Someone said here that the dork's a Manu fan? I'm almost rooting for Kronke.

Anyhow, great news and probably the reason we see the, Cesc is "content" piece on fsc.com this week

Well that would be FANTASTIC news, ONCE IT'S OFFICIAL... hopefully tomorrow.

£4m... hmm... I was wondering how that stacks up... quite well... it would be #2 in England in fact.

If my info from a recent Telegraph article is still accurate:

    £5.2m Mourinho
    £3.6m Ferguson
    £3m Allardyce
    £2.5m Benitez
    £2.5m McClaren

I think AW is worth every penny, especially since he saves the club so many more millions by finding quality young (cheap) players.

It's just shite typing that takes a minute to figure out.

Or maybe I'm slow on the uptake as well.

The exaltation of Kroenke this past week after Usmanov's scumbaggery emerged has been really funny. He's gone from Grade A arsehole to...SAVE US STAN!

Can't say I disagree with it though. Both situations are bad but at least Kroenke seems like a decent man.

    'Arsene the incredible'

    Gale: Highbury regular

    Sky Sports News

Arsene Wenger's decision to stay at Arsenal means England will continue to play host to the best football around, according to Sky Sports pundit Tony Gale.

Wenger has ended months of speculation by signing a three-year contract which will keep him in north London until the summer of 2011.

Gale spent years covering the Gunners in his job as a radio summariser, and he told Sky Sports News he was priveleged to cover their matches.

"Arsene Wenger's sides have played some of the best football I've ever seen," he said. "I never had a doubt he would stay - he loves Arsenal.

"He's built not just a team there, but a club, and he's achieved the almost-impossible - he's won trophies with style.

"When Wenger arrived he had established players like Adams, Keown, Winterburn, Dixon and Bould and he implemented a new style of play with them.

"Now he's done a Fergie - he's doing the same thing with young players. So he's done it two different ways.

"Some of his signings have been incredible, and the returns he's got on the likes of Anelka have funded whole new sides. That's quite some feat.

"But the pure fact is they've played some of the best football I've ever seen. As a football fan, aside from anything else, I used to love going to Highbury to watch them.

"Even now they play some great stuff and, if you could have a season ticket anywhere, any football connoisseur would tell you Arsenal play the best football."

I'm not sure personally that a Sky journalist declaring Arsenal play the best football deserves its own thread TBH but each to their own I guess.

    More from Arsene's interview.

What was your first day like?

"My first day? I remember landing at the airport and having my first press conference. That was my first day. I saw this press conference again recently and I thought my English is really terrible so at least I have improved that since."

Has there been any moment in your time that has really proved that Arsenal are the right club for you?

"Yes. I have had many moments when I have felt down because we have lost a big game but I never ever had any doubts that I did not have the support of the club. When I first arrived many people talked badly about me and I never had the feeling that there was any lack of trust or support from the board. I have never felt disappointed on that front. As for all the rest well you are ready to suffer and work very hard for your success. This job is difficult without the support of everyone at the club. Without that you have no chance."

What ideas did you have about Arsenal before you arrived and how have they changed since?

"I had the vision of a very traditional and very efficient club. A very stylish club. What has changed? We have always tried to respect the values of the club. It was like that when I arrived but afterwards we have tried to adapt to the modern game. That means there is more of a foreign influx and we have been open to outside influences. We have become more international and more sophisticated in our approach to the game. But we try to keep that way of believing in our strength to integrate the sophisticated approach that you need for the modern game."

What has been you biggest surprise in your time at Arsenal?

"I have had many surprises but perhaps the biggest one is how big the potential is for this club. That is was shown when we played that Champions League game against AIK Solna. It was the first time we had gone to Wembley and we were sold out against a Swedish team. That was when you realised how big the potential was at this club. That was my biggest surprise."

You have travelled the world. What is the most unusual place a supporter has come up to you and talked about Arsenal Football Club?

"The most unusual place was I think at Munich and I met a couple who were on a gap year. They had just come back from teaching English in a little village in India. They told me that in this tiny place half the village was for Manchester United and half the village was for Arsenal."

    How has Arsenal influenced you?

"It has changed me certainly. How? First of all I have worked very hard in the last 10 years. I must say I feel much more mature than when I arrived. They helped me mature because of the huge responsibility that I have. It also strengthened my belief in what is important in the game. I could check my beliefs because the club gave me that kind of freedom. That is very important in the life of a manager."

    How have you influenced Arsenal?

"I am not in the best position to answer that question. I hope in a very positive way. We want to make happy the people who live the club and I hope that I contributed to that."
