I was just thinking... Where does Wenger rank as far as length of time spent in his current job? I know in the Premiership, only Fergie has had a longer reign, and no one else is even close. But what about across Europe? I can't think of any managers at big European clubs that have anything close to Wenger's time on the job. Just a thought.

Wenger has said there will be an announcement concerning his contract this Thursday or Friday.

I've got to admit, i'm starting to get very impatient.

You are getting impatient now? That's just incredibly weird

I was impatient when wenger was refusing to say anything other than he cannot say one way or the other about being here next season. That was infuriating having him invite the possibility of him leaving. Right now he has all but confirmed he will be signing an extension soon. He can take another month or two if he wants - he has already given us what we want in my opinion - all thats left is to make it official - a small technicality.

Really I wish AW could find a way to say less about these issues. I know he wants to reassure the squad and the fans that he'll stay there. The way to do that is to sign a contract. Everything else is just a tease.

Does this mean your ban accidently came off? Hmmm, will have to do something about that if you start up with your rubbish again.

It's probably down to the fact that every journo in the land keeps banging on about it to him. I've always known when Arsene's contract in up, not because I'm an Arsenal fan, but because it's on the s*dding back page of the Sun every time it's got less than 18 months to go. Wenger's just not really the type of guy to keep saying no comment.

Basically he's said he's re-signing. He's about the most trustworthy word-keeping man in the world of football. That'll do for me...

He says to expect an announcement on Thursday or Friday and that is good enough for me as well. Glad he is going to make it official soon.

Nick Juande Ramos from right under Spurs faces would be my guess.

I have an off the wall nominee: Ian Holloway. His quotes would be a blast and he does get the best out of his guys. We'd have to have a heckuva director of football though as no one is gonna replace the Gaffer's eye for talent.

Re: Arsene Wenger Re-signs for three years

I already submitted his name back when Wenger's future was in doubt. Besides, in three years, Mr. Charlie George will be in retirement having lead England to a World Cup win as player-manager.

By the way, my new 3rd kit has "C. George" and "71" on the back (the letters from the Arsenal shop are felt, quite nice) and for extra mojo, I purchased the CG 71 t-shirt.

Sorry you got me started again?:D

Speaking of Arsenal Legends, the all-time draft died a quiet death...

    Why not a 12 year deal ?! :D

I'm happy i don't have to bother about Wenger being here for atleasr 2 and half years .. 2 CL trophies coming up ..

That would mean 2 and half more years of complaining why we don't sign wingers and experienced players .. :D .. I can live with that ..
