I remember coming home from school and catching the last 15 or so minutes. I believe Ballack hit the post shortly before. Then that Odonkor cross to Neuville. Odonkor was a beast of a super sub in that tournament.

Yes, primetime - all of Germany watching. We had like 30-2 shots on goal and shortly before we hit the bar -twice then Odonkor scored but was offside. I think the tourney would have went a total different way if it hadnt been for that goal and that game. It united the team with the fans and the whole country. Ive also never seen again people partying in the streets like that after what was only a group win.

I remember I showed up in Germany a few days after that game and I swear I never saw Germany like that before. I was in Chicago, France, then Chicago again during the World Cup 2002 and Euro 2004 in Germany but we all know how that went. 2006 was fücking crazy though.

    Creative title!;)

Lewy has just got his form back for Bayern but it really doesn't matter if the Polish midfield can't get him the ball like we've seen so many times when he plays for Poland.

Gomez is injured so Loew may go with the false 9 with either Goetze or Mueller up top.

    Easy win fuer die Mannschaft!:p

I'm sure it'll turn up on the internet somewhere shortly and I'll be there to download it and burn it to DVD for home theater enjoyment

Rüdiger? Really?! Löw has massive scouting resources across the nation at his disposal and can't think outside that Stuttgart box where he's from? Disappointing.

Löw says: "He's a mini Boateng. He can be an alternative."

Its true; he is somewhat similar to Boateng if we took out all of Boateng's defensive polish and made him a fair amount worse on the ball, but "alternative" is very different from "Lahm's successor". I don't think we'll see a truly solid RB who can make the position his own and really be Lahm's permanent heir for at least two years.

Bild is saying that Rüdiger is currently the favorite for the position, not directly for Löw.

"Zwar absolvierte der Stuttgarter erst zwei Länderspiele (kein Pflichtspiel!), doch dennoch gilt er aktuell als Top-Kandidat bei der Nachfolge-Suche für Lahm auf der vakanten Rechtsverteidiger-Position."

Although the Stuttgarter has only absorbed two caps(no official match), he currently stems as the top candidate in the search for Lahm's successor on the vacant right back position.

Hummels composing the game well from the centre. Making timely tackles and finding those passing lanes.

Good job by Rüdiger to stop Lewy on the run.
