With the popularity of the show, I can't believe there's not a thread on the team. The most relevant one I could find is this https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/its-always-sunny-in-wrexham.2111713/#post-38981783 and it's in the Cups & Competitions section. Anyway, Wrexham FC currently sits second in the National League. League winner gets promoted. Second place goes through a playoff for promotion. It's a cool show.

More drama and excitement in Wrexham than a Korean mini-series. Top two teams to play and it goes to the final play to decide the outcome. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/65159591 Ben Foster, former England GK, at 39 years old comes out of retirement to save a penalty and preserve the win. https://www.espn.com/sports/insider...an-reynolds-wrexham-ever-reach-premier-league ESPN with a good article on their future. Basically says that financially they will top out at League 1 without more backing.
Didn't get to read the whole article since it's behind a pay wall, but I get the idea. Ryan Reynolds just made $300M in a recent business deal, and while that's nothing to sneeze at, it's not in the same league, so to speak, as those who own Premier League teams. Perhaps he and Rob M will get more backing. Or they can sell shares. If Wrexham gets to League 1, attracting other investors will unlikely be a problem. Go Wrexham!
Wrexham on the brink of getting promoted. One win in the last two games would do it. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/64461732 Wrexham are one win away from securing the National League title and a return to the EFL after a hard-fought victory that sees Yeovil Town relegated. Anthony Forde, James Jones and Paul Mullin's second-half goals mean the Dragons will seal promotion by beating Boreham Wood on Saturday. Wrexham's 107 points breaks the National League and professional English single-season points record.......

A lucrative summer of sponsorship deals with the likes of United Airlines and Stok Cold Brew Coffee partly explains why club insiders believe such a figure may well be achievable in their first season back in the EFL. There is the upcoming second series of Welcome to Wrexham, the documentary that has put the club bought by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney on the global sporting map.
