It seems that he likes to play for Milan, but he's not so dedicated that he'd never move. Milan need to keep him happy enough to get him to sign a new contract extension. A lot of that will come down to strengthening the squad. His contract expires in 2012 when he'll be only 23 years old. It be silly to lose a player of his ability just when he's entering his prime. I like Pato's character and playing style, so I'd like to see him at Milan for the long haul.

And he barely played then. It was very disappointing to see him not being used even as a sub. For me it was the clearest sign that he is out of Dunga's plans for the World Cup.

Its not whether or not he scores, its whether he tries to get into good positions. Pato can be guilty of ball watching sometimes, where he isn't involved in the play and he just waltzes around. With players like Ibra and Cassano around, he needs to be alert at all times because they can create goals out of nothing.

Isn't it a necessity to get in a good position in order to score? If Ibra and Cassano offer him opportunities I think especially Pato will be the guy who jumpes at those. (vs. Udinese: assist Ibra, goal Pato; assist Cassano, (pretty sweet) goal Pato) As striker Pato imho churns out as many scoring opportunities as Ibra, it's just that Ibra is more of a focal point who likes to hold on to the ball more and thus helping build up the play more. Pato tends to drift off too much at times but his output remains outstanding for a 21year old striker, so I don't really get all that drama and especially teammates (Ibra, Gattuso, Oddo) jumping on him publicly.
Well Oddo can STFU as far as I'm concerned, he's been in retirement since the 2006 World Cup. However, Pato needs to realize he must be constantly at the service of the team. His flaws, in my opinion, are selfishness and isolation. He forgets that moving the ball quickly is more effective and when others have the ball he tends to watch them play instead of getting involved. If you watch a player like David Villa for example, he always runs into the right spaces to receive a pass and shoot on goal or create space for those around him. He creates 3-4 chances a game. Pato could learn so much from the players around him, like Inzaghi and even Ibra, but for some reason he still acts like a primavera player. Yes, and he is gifted at it inside the box. However, sometimes he just switches off and doesn't see the spaces he should be moving into to help his teammates. You can't stay in the box all the time, even Inzaghi will check to the ball and ask for it.
