I would keep the word CITY in the name, no? I find the name NYC holds lots of class and meaning... Then when they start kicking butt in the CCL, it'll sound grate and push their true identity as being NY's true city team. I hope they build the stadium the fastest possible to compete with NYRB, and make it really classy ... New York City...sounds great! Can't wait to get the jersey with the USL logo on it, I'll put it next to my MTL and PR ones.

To even have a chance to "kick butt" in the CCL, you'll need to do something which has only been done once in the MLS era, and that is have a USL team win the U.S. Open Cup.

So are they going to name the team, or is this team going to have a copycat European name too?

Well, considering that they couldn't even come up with an original name when the named the city...

Heck, maybe they could go old school and name their team New Ajax.

Joking aside. I don't see anything wrong with FCNY.

Not bad. I kinda dig it. But an old school, 16 panel leather ball, would look even sweeter. :)

Those lines look more like a volleyball than a soccer ball to me, but other than that it looks decent.

Yep; soccer balls were 12- and 18-panel way before volleyballs were. In fact, I'd like to see a 12-panel ball again, or at least an black pent, white hex ball. A 12-panel ball could probably be done again, especially with today's technology. Could be a novelty for adidas and MLS.

I cant wait to make a trip up north next year to see the Battery play FC New York. Im a big Yankees fan also so maybe I can catch a game at the new stadium. Yall should come down to Charleston if the opportunity comes along.
