The names being thrown around are absolutely wacky. Tite? Lampard? Hiring Lampard makes sense if you’re a stupid American owner who doesn’t understand anything about Italian football. Lampard doesn’t know Serie A. He would struggle and Roma would struggle.

Mancini is the safest and best choice for Roma IMO. Yes he’s a prick, but he has the best footballing mind out of anyone being considered

If not Mancini it would be Sousa 2nd for me. He has a big job in him, its just waiting for the right place to click. Seeing how wild Roma is, I could see the two lining up.

It will be interesting to see if this will be a hire for the rest of the season, or beyond that.
If its just for the remainder of the season, give me Rudi. Mancini or Allegri don't excite me longer term but I don't know a ton about the other options that have been rumored.

Dybala "shocked" that he was left out of the roster. A day later Juric is fired. Only a big coach like Jose can manage a big player like Dybala.

Looks like Friedkin is taking his time with this pick. He has to know he can't F this one up.

There is no saving this season. Doesn't matter who they pick. It's all about damage control now.

Allegri would be my pick, has the CV, is a winner and he won't be afford to boss the little pricks in this team. Football would be ugly but we need results, feels similar to Mou without the whining.

Sarri might have the players mutiny faster than they did for Juric.

Ideally I'd like to see a caretaker, probably Ranieri, steady the ship, get the most out of the players so that they might have value again to sell them in the summer. Hire a Terzic or other project manager and rebuild this squad properly over 3-5 years; stability at Roma - dreaming I know.

I didnt think Rudi was a serious option but with his name being linked, its worth remembering the chaos he walked into last time and lead with class. I dont care how he left, he was given an attack that could not work. Had they have kept him with Perotti and SES arriving it would have been fine. He is a solid all round coach. Anybody who is a neutral coach at this point more geared towards being a players coach. Sarri would be a disaster right now.

Ranieri would probably come for free. Any of these guys will do a job. The season was over in September  ffs

Sky Italia are now reporting it, so probably not just paper talk. Another Roma legend to be dragged through the mud by this ownership.

Poor Claudio had retired (from club management at least) but his beloved and beleaguered Roma have come calling once again and he just cant say no. Man's a legend.

TFG will stay firmly in the bad books for now but in terms of getting the fans back on side it's a good move. He's a good bet for restoring some morale, harmony and pride back in the changing room.

The season is very close already to being a write off but Claudio will likely have something of a positive impact around the place.

Interested to see what this passionate, proud and wise man will do with this mess.

Unless the reported meeting is for a different role or just a sound out. Guess that's possible too.

Not my favorite pick, but Ranieri has always stepped up for Roma in moments of crisis, bringing stability when the club needed it most. Remember, he’s taken over midseason before, after the dismissals of Spalletti and Garcia, guiding the team through turbulent times.

In the 2009/2010 season, he nearly led us to the Scudetto despite the challenges we faced.

That’s exactly why he remains a true Roma legend.

Ranieri is all over the Internet, so I think it most likely will be him.

Not excited about this but better Ranieri until the end of the season than giving another 3 year contract to one of the other rumoured guys.

Isn't it time to make a Ranieri thread or revive an old one?

I have faith in Hummels. Mancini can sit on the bench.

Mancini should have never seen the field again under him after Fiorentina but he accepted his pish apology only for 2 games later to see him do the same thing again. Juric might have had no hope walking into the situation but he proved himself to be a weak leader.

Im done with Mancini, he is a at best a slightly above average defender who has a massively inflated ego. Coming out with statements like he has, Harry Maguire 2.0.

De Rossi 3 milion? Ridiculous. Someone with little coaching experience.
