I don't understand how Dybala is immune from criticism, his performances have been at the level of Pellegrini. We should remember he was on his way to Saudi, it was the club that reflected the move because of the insulting low offer.

I just mean I’m not blaming him solely for this loss, he has been awful apart from the Torino game (though I think the Torino game shows that if you put him in the correct role where he is a protagonist he can be a leader for this team and show his best qualities)
Ride out the Juric train until the end of season, as long as Roma isn't relegated, who cares at this point.
I had mentioned that previously. Jurics style leaves him just another cog in the machine from attacking midfield and massively restricts his creative talent. It's not surprising the torino game was the one he shone in. It brings up the old debate of pragmatic managers v systems. For me the best manager will look at the group and be flexible. This is what Roma needs and if that approach was taken, the team picks itself as 4-2-3-1. Dybabla plays as a 10. Kone and Le Fee alternating with Paredes and Pisilli. Paredes is the one of the three you mentioned who does offer use, he just need the right partner and its for sure he cares for the shirt.
I really, really hope they hire Lampard for the laughs. This team is garbage, the off the field chaos is the only entertainment we are getting this year.
The players have been shit. We have some decent players who have been playing shit, and we have more players who are just straight up shit. I've watched enough of their crap by now. Sadly, regardless of who's in charge and what system they play, this bunch is not top 4 standard and never will be. Baldanzi, Pisilli, Kone and Le Fee are interesting players. The old guard either have been or just are shit and I'm not convinced by Dovbyk, or N'dicka for that matter.
The thing with Paredes for me is I don't like his attitude, he was talking about leaving for free once his contract expires to join Boca, whatever I get he's from there but don't say it while you're still a Roma player... he was even talking in interviews about convinving Dybala to join him there... I respect the guy was good for us under DDR, he had a monster game against Leverkusen away that I won't forget, but his mind seems checked out, especially if he's not made a protagonist
What is the point with coming up with all these names as possible coaches? Maybe Friedkin has money to burn?
From someone who doesn't really watch football outside of Italy, Roger Schmidt looks pretty interesting. Heavy press oriented game with a 4-2-3-1.
I dont see any issue with him saying that. Its no secret he loves there but he also loves Rome. He said when he retires it will most likely be the place he lives in and raises the family. He always wears his heart on his sleeve, even on the pitch when he is petulant, I have always liked a player who shows they have a pulse even if that comes with needless cards, the good outweighs the bad. The team needs an odd shithouse to inject a bit of anger into a game and Paredes knows perfectly how to light the place up. Remember him driving the ball full whack into the dutch bench. Classic shithousery much needed in the game. He needs a runner beside him to cover his weakness but beside that, his technical class is amongst the best in his position in football. I think Juric should be trying to figure out a way he plays more because when hes on it, he does have the character and quality to direct a game. Alongside Kone or Le Fee who work very well if Juric is flexible. The season is tanked, I just want to see a bit of decent football. Dybala as a 10 and let him cook with these guys behind him and I bet you they would start to rake in consistent points instead of trying to force these guys to do something they struggle with.
He doesn't have the legs for Juric's midfield, he works in a certain system, a system that is opposite to what Juric wants. He drops far too deep to collect possession, causing himself to be isolated from the rest of the midfield.
Ive already said in the last few posts Im speaking from the pov that in this situation Juric needs to be adaptive to the group he has in front of him if he is to survive.
Survive what? He's done after the season regardless. IMO he is now in a no win/no lose situation in terms of his career. He's not suddenly going to get this team to play well and he's probably not going to get Roma relegated. Due to the mess of the situation I can't see how his tenure here will be held against him for future job prospects. The club probably needs to on their hands for a while regarding Juric and let this season play out.
Yes nothing is his fault here. They are now saying he is being given 2 games. He is a good manager and did deserve his shot at a bigger side, just not like this. If he can be a little more flexible right now, get them playing to the squads strengths and not force his way, he might keep himself in the job and start to do alright as the season grows. At that stage he might give himself a shot. With a market geared towards what he wants and a pre season, he could do something but right now whats the best way to keep yourself in the job? I would say put the best players in their position and just let them play to their natural strengths. This is also a chance for him to grow in his understanding as a manager. He can only come out of it stronger if he survives the next few games.
After today, and what I assume will be a loss against Bologna, he’s probably going to get sacked. The only downside is that whatever manager they bring in will be coming in before two big games, with little time to implement any changes. At this rate we’re about 3 games behind a European spot, have a big chance to crash out of Europa too. At this rate if I was in the Friedkins spot, I would hire a long term manager, and do a mini sell off in December. Send Paredes to Boca early, and try to cash in on Dybala to Saudi, because he won’t want to be here next year. If we can get rid of Pellegrini, Cristante, Mancini or Celik… that would just be a plus. Promote from the the youth, or give Saud, Dahl, or Sangare a chance.. then next year we only have the league to worry about. It’s like an NBA team who knows they can’t make playoffs, so they sell off and play their young players in hope of getting a high draft pick. This is something like that, because there isn’t a coach on this planet that can come in, motivate the players, get our defense to stop leaking goals, get our offense to score, and implement their ideas in time to get CL football.
I just don’t see how they dig themselves out of this hole this season. Even if results didn’t get better with De Rossi, at the very least you still have fan support with him in charge. Attendance likely stays strong which helps finances. Where as now there’s very little to like about this team.
Gianluca Mancini: "When the new ones ask me I tell them about the nights in Europe when I saw the eyes of the opponents full of fear. Now our fans no longer give us that extra will to fight." https://t.co/dZPlmWcBHj— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) November 7, 2024 Is this just a poor translation? Sounds like he’s blaming the fans for the poor performances.
Partially blaming them but yes he said after that we understand them. Still a borderline statement. A couple of weeks ago he didnt bother chasing back to do his basic duties. He needs to shut it. Acting the big man cause he scored a goal tonight against little Union while allowing 5 foot nothing Mac Allister to score a header.
Juric was only getting a pass with me if he could be pragmatic in this moment and just fit in the best players but starting that defense tells me what he is not capable of doing that. He is too pig headed. The whole long term rebuild was so perfect for DDR but the summer transfers didnt make sense to go in line with that. Young players, cheap signings to grow in value with a manager doing the same. The only way fans put some life back into this is if they bring him back and apologise but reports say they are not considering him.
We're playing the worst we've played in the last 20 years but this guy 'sees some good things'... Just end this nightmare...
