Yep and Hendo arguably had one of the toughest acts in football when he had to follow the brilliant Stevie G as captain. Hendo has faced a constant steam of comparisons to Gerrard and has deservedly emerged as a great Liverpool captain in his own right. Top man on and off the pitch.
when Hendo has a poor game he gets dumped on by tons of "fans" as being the biggest problem we've had for years. when he has a good game, almost nobody seems to notice.

James Milner has appeared to joke with Jordan Henderson regarding a future at centre-half Jurgen Klopp has revealed. Liverpool were again forced to make do at the back which meant their skipper partnering Nathaniel Phillips at West Ham. The Reds put in an impressive display to win 3-1 with the Hammers grabbing a late consolation. Milner was hooked on the hour mark and was suitably impressed with Henderson's display, so much so that he thinks he might be staying there. Klopp said: "James Milner shouted at Hendo 'you better be careful, because if you keep playing like this, you'll be centre-back for the rest of your career'"
great piece on Hendo's contribution to today's win ... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...rson-liverpool-captain-mohamed-salah-west-ham Inspirational and always shouting: Henderson embodies Liverpool spirit Sixty-eight minutes: Liverpool cleared a corner and Alexander‑Arnold slung the ball out to the left. Xherdan Shaqiri swept it instantly to the top of the box. Salah’s first touch was sublime, his second beautifully deft and Liverpool suddenly had a 2-0 lead. About 10 yards behind him was Henderson, having sprinted 70 yards. He was the first to congratulate Salah and, in the unlikely event the Egyptian’s first touch had been less than sensational, he would have been on hand to collect the loose ball.
Against West Ham, Henderson won 100% of his duels and won possession 11 times - the most of any player in the match.
hope this happens .... If all plans fall into place, this summer could be the perfect opportunity to welcome fans back to Anfield with a testimonial for Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/...rson-testimonial-as-part-of-pre-season-plans/
Great for Hendo , he should be able to finish his career at Liverpool. I assume he'll be taking on Milners role in the coming seasons.
Must make him wonder , I'd say but ultimately we cannot continue handing out long term deals to all of our older players then watch as the team all get old together. I forget whether it was Shanks or Paisley but there was a philosophy at one time of bringing in two new players each season. Those guys wouldn't necessarily slot immediately into the first team but there was a continuity and succession in place.
