There's been a thread for Chavez recently, but he's not the only former FCD-er doing well right now. I'm not saying we really need help, things are going decently enough, but what ex-Dallas player, still active, would you most like to see back in hoops?
I'd rather it be a forward, but when you break the forwards down they may not be great fits. Cooper's been great this year but seems to depend on Henry, and of course we don't have an Henry. It seems that a lot of people expect the Santos bubble to burst, and indeed he did little or nothing last night against San Jose. Ruiz and Cunningham are still scoring goals down south, and Ruiz isn't much older than Perez, but they can't have much left in the legs. So unless I'm forgetting an obvious forward, which is possible, I'll look elsewhere. Dax has gotten props lately at the d-mid position in New York, but I think we've seen that we have decent options there (though we only use them when we have to.) The Erics, meh. That leaves Chavez by default. He deserves the praise he's getting in San Jose this year and is undoubtedly a key part of their success so far.
Man, I didn't know about Warshaw's injury until just now. That kind of tilts things in favor of Dax...
Avi always had a special place in my FCD heart, as did Dax which made this a tough poll. I went with Avi out of pure current need, he's the most "CAM" of anyone on the list.
Avila. I like to see players with a knack and some guile on the ball and he had it. Shame it didn't show more often.
We could really use Dax's killer through passes right about now, especially with the speed we have in Shea, Castillo and Perez.
I would like to see Pertuz more at that spot. From his sub role there a few games back I thought he was very good. If John stays or Hedges blossoms he may end up being the eventual replacement for DH.
