    Game.

    8-nil
    Break down:
Both forwards got a goal each
    Wingers got 3 goals(1&2)
Midfielder who was a defender for soem reason got 2 goals.
    Defender got the last one.

Also had 2 yellows and knocked out two other the other teams players.

So now I have a gd of 35-3 and five points clear of second place who I play next week. Debating inf I want to MOTS that one.

I won 4-0 but lost two players to injury in the last 5 minutes of the game. Crap, I really needed those players for next week. Looks like I will have to hire a few Docs.

Lost our first match 4-1. I wasn't expecting a goal, and especially not from the guy who got it. Match 29174065

Won 4-1. Got a near sellout. Retook 3rd place. It would have been a better day if my #2 defender hadn't gone down with +4 injury.

How exactly does one get a team to stop pulling back to defend 2 goal leads? I want them to pull back after they have at least a 3 goal lead.

Can't, there is really no way to keep them from pulling back.

I'm pissed, the server hates me I think, I tied away 3-3, even though I pulled another career high in ratings, even without a MOTS. I topped him 128-110, and won every area but my left attack vs his right defense. With a mutual PIC game next week that I will loss unless something happens, I'm gonna be fighting to stay up in division V.:(

Won 2-1 to tie for 6th in front of a season high 5732 fans (grumble). First 2 game league winning streak ever. Put in 2 of 3 chances (1-2 on free kicks) and let in 1-1. Would like to have scored more with 67% and 72% posession (not bad with 1 CM and 2 wingers against a 4-4-2), but a wingback got his 2 yellow in the 35 minute so we were a man down. Next up is getting pasted on the road to the #1 team, but such is hattricklife so we'll PIC and make the most of it.

This places me in 4th, one point clear of 5th. I should be able to win my next 2 games, but the last 4 will be harsh. I'll be playing 2nd, 3rd, 1st, and 5th. I feel if I can at least win or draw one of the last 4 games I can probably lock down 4th place and stay in DV for S25. If not, it's qualifying time!

Dropped a 2-1 decision to undefeated top team in the series, who sadly is going to auto promote next year. I was really looking forward to kicking his ass next season.

I MOTS and got my best midfield rating ever. I created 8 chances to his 1 (the second goal was off a special event) and still couldn't equalize. Oh well, I'll be able to PIC next week. I've temporarily dropped to fourth, but I should gain 2nd place back by the end of the season.

I could be wrong, but I believe this is really just flavor text. It doesn't really mean much. And I think it comes from confidence/opponent's quality. There is no external way to control it.

No, you don't like that message. You don't like it one bit. It means you've been hit with overconfidence and will see a major hit to your midfield ratings.

Nobody even knows how the whole pulling back thing works (there aren't really any satisfying theories that have the weight of any hard evidence behind them), so for sure nobody has any idea how to exert any control over it.

Helg, I'm pretty sure it's more than just flavor text. I believe it actually does do something in the context of the match engine, perhaps lowering your team's offense ratings slightly and correspondingly raising the defense ratings.

Won 2-1 away for my second league vitory in a row and ever.

I'm now in 6th with 8 points and a real shot at a playoff game.

3 pic, press and plays coming up before the crunch relegation 6 pointer.

Wonderful confidence probably means there's some risk of it happening again. To see the effect of overconfidence, just look at your ratings in this match compared to what you would have expected, it should be significantly cheaper.

Psychologists prevent overconfidence. Apart from last wednesday's cup match, I haven't lost a single match this season. I think I should thank my three shrinks for not getting overconfidence.

I never got it either when winning my V five seasons ago or when winning my IV four seasons ago.

this is where I'm at now. I was at this point early in the season when I was #1 and I had the dreaded "underestimation on my opponent" who was then #7. Unless your #1 v 7-8 there's no danger at wonderful I believe...

I thought psychologists have just the opposite effect, raising confidence, so you are more likely to be overconfident if you already have high confidence. I've always dumped psychologists when my confidence gets high and I've never experienced overconfidence.

I've actually hit 192/98 MOTSing in my qualifier last season.

Also, incidentally, with the 177 this week, Gainesville Orphans set a new club record, rendering Lone Star the BigSoccer member who has gone the longest without a team record (possible exception of Lineboys or Cyclones since I haven't pulled their historical matches).
