=) YS comes up big. Both my regular keepers are hurt so this is a great help.

Now I don't know if I want to keep this guy after my regular keep gets better or use this guy as my new backup... I could probably get a decent bit of money for him.

    All low inadequates I assume.

I pulled my first gem!

    17yo valued at 148k
with Inad Stam, Solid Winger, Passable Def
    :D
Gonna offer him up at a premium, but I don't mind keeping his services. Going to offer him up during Euro prime time for maybe 200k and see what bites.

But only worth $77k? Must be barely excellent, along with all the horrible secondary stats. Not sure if I should train him or try to sell him. I've played Hattrick for over 9 seasons, and this is my first pull with a primary skill of excellent.

9 SEASONS??? Then there is no hope for me to pull one soon. My pull this week had passable set peices, but was no better then poor in primary's so he needless to say is lying face down in a gutter somewhere.

So based on what I see... not yet being able to play since im waiting to be an official player... this "pulling" you speak of is the recruitment of youth talent? You dont pay for them, they just show up? Does this improve with your team's reputation?

you invest a weekly amount of money in your youth squad.

    No Investment
    $5,000
    $10,000
    $20,000

Your YS will start off as weak when you first get your team but will gradually increase from weak to inadequate and to passable and so on... the highest being excellent. The more money you invest the faster it will increase. How High it will go is also dependant on how much money you invest... a 10,000 dollar investment will never take you higher than a solid YS.

You get one youth pull per week and it is pretty much random what you get.

youth players are 17-19 years old.

Do you propose investing highly in the YS when I first start, or not investing at all (not sure if that is possible i dont think so) or just a little and buying my players off other teams? It seems the Youth thing could take a while to be profitable either for sales purposes or for development of my squad... but if I am supposed to lose my first season or possibly not get promoted, long term would be better... ahhh...so frustrated.. have to wait 4 days.. that is criminal...

I would say go ahead and invest the max. Its going to take more than a season to get it to solid. oh yeah, you gave me negative rep... lol... misunderstanding im sure. :D

The youth system can take a while, or it can take a short time, the whole thing is random, so you could still pull a good player with a bad youth system. Me personally, I've been investing the max for quite a while, and I'm still waiting for that one big pull that will make me rich. :)

In addition to the the weekly investment it costs $2000 to promote a player from the youth squad. And you can only do it once a week.

Maybe my experience is different, but it only took me about 10 weeks or so to go to solid. I also invested only 10K for about 5 weeks or so.

Yeah, I left mine at 10k for a while and mine got to and stayed at passable. I only recently (in my third season) am contributing 20k.

If you can afford it Killamanjohno I would recommend investing $20K from the start and getting it to increase as quickly as possible.

Still takes a while. This game is about patience. Changes take place, but slowly.

My advice is to set your youth squad investment to $20,000, and then forget about it. Just leave it alone. Sure, early on the $22,000 a week ($20,000 + $2,000 for the pull) is pretty steep, but it'll all pay off in the end if you play long enough. My first season alone I pulled a solid keeper and solid playmaker, and I've made as much as a $1,000,000 profit in a single season. I've lost money over the course of a season as well, but thems the breaks.

Oh, and if you decide not to invest, still pull a player every week. never, EVER go a week without pulling someone up. It's like the lottery, you never know when you might pull the almighty gem of players that will garner a king's ransom on the transfer market.

That's 9 seasons to pull an excellent in a primary skill (playmaking, scoring, defending, keeper). In the past I've pulled an excellent winger (horrible other skills) and an excellent set pieces (sold for over $150k I think).

    So there's still hope!
