To add to your point, SMU's three best local recruits were arguably Ramon Nunez, Kenny Cooper and Ruben Luna. But Nunez only stuck around for one year, and the other two went pro without ever enrolling.

Marshall's star GK Daniel Withrow is now up to 29 saves with only 1 goal allowed. (It went in off the post.)

    Edit: Fixed typo

Well, that's one way to get around the NCAA limit for games in a season.

Actually their fourth win in 2OT but their sixth 2OT game. Overall, 6-1-2. In 2OT, 4-0-2.

Cal State Northridge continued its hot streak with a 2-0 win over UC Davis on Vuvuzela Giveaway Night. The Matadors got first half goals from David Turcios (1) and Edwin Rivas (6) and outshot the Aggies on goal 7 to 2. UC Davis got a red card in the 47th minute and didn't really threaten afterward. Sagi Lev-Ari only managed two shots, neither one on goal.

CSUN faces Sacramento State on Sunday. Temperature will be about 100 degrees for the 1 p.m. kickoff. A fun time for all!

Furman tied 1-1 with ETSU on Thursday evening. ETSU took the lead just before half time and Furman got the goal back on a long ball into the box from the keeper at 89:45 gone in the game. Yep, 15 seconds to go. Scoreless after extra time.

I believe it was Nic Ryan of Branham HS in San Jose who scored the game winner. I went to a few Quakes games with his dad Steve "Red" Ryan who played at SJSU and for the NASL Quakes & CA Surf. He kind of looks like him and also wears his #14...

In the battle of kids who stopped over-achieving as soon as they got their admissions packets, Harvard and Yale phoned in a 0-0 tie.
