You could probably even cut down that number a little bit. 7k maybe as low as 5k, maybe there'll be as many as 10k there, but its going to be an epic game, Pedro vs. Clemmens at Fenway too.
Re: Re: Week 28 attendance thread Martinez vs Clemens OR Twellman vs Baumstark Call me crazy but I prefer watching the latter matchup.
Maybe it'll rain and the baseball game will be cancelled and everyone will decide to head to Foxboro for the big Revs/DC matchup instead. Hey, I'm grasping. So shoot me.
So you guys are saying that the same fans that go to baseball games, attend soccer, football, basketball, etc?
Why not? Sure there are a few maybe that go to soccer games exclusively but the vast majority are sports fans. I am. I go to hockey, baseball, and college sports all the time. FWIW, 26k are sold already in Chicago. 31k is the low-end attendance projection.
why not ? lets see money/expense time family other important things or more important things in life to do this are my reasons , hockey game costs me $ 90 a sit, i go to two games in january there is no soccer then
I think you're delusional if you think people who go to soccer games only go to soccer games and people who go to baseball games only go to baseball games and have no interest in going to a soccer game. You see a lot of shirts for various Chicago sports teams at Fire games, just like at any other Chicago sporting event.
why the name calling ? i go to hockey games myself never said they don't, just surprises me it would be in such large numbers to make such a big impact on attendance, it just surprises me, that is all, no need to get nasty
iknew you were joking man, but i heard this same excuse in drop in attendance at other times, and i am not a beliver that the same people go to every sport. I follow MLS since day one, i have a group of friends and family none really attend regulary other sport, and i do not know of anyone who is a metro fan to do so.
That's actually quite a bit more people than I thought would be there. That's a damn near astounding number actually. When probably more than 1 out of every 2 families with a television set was watching theirs (Sox/Yankees) at the same time the game was going on.
Per MLS Attendance@MetroStars :13,567 Plus a bit of extra news: 3 P.k saves : Dallas v Metros (A Recold for a MLS match) 2 by DJ and 1 by Jonny. http://mlsnet.com/games/03/tracker.php?gamename=10112003_DALMET&version=recap
