The numbers in Chicago are a little disappointing. Columbus and KC about standard..... On the plus side- Decent mid-week crowd in Colorado.... For Dallas, their biggest crowd since the home opener..... And SanJose has cleared the 10,000 mark for the fifth staight game.
Re: Fun With Numbers Thanks so much for breaking that down like that. I'll have to take your word on it in regards to the actual figures as I'm both lazy and a moron. But if it can be blamed very easily and relatively logically on a scapegoat then great. The occasional press mention, or bigsoccer nerd esteem knock because attendance is down could be easily explained away to advertisers and the rest due to the Dallas factor.
Re: Re: Fun With Numbers Uh... not quite. True, if DB's 2003 was adjusted to match 2002, the L's average would exceed 15K alright, but still fall far short of 2002's average. And this in a year when there was so much increased season ticket sales jubilation bantered about here on BS. Sorry, but DB as THE scapegoat just won't wash.
Re: Re: Re: Fun With Numbers Of course you're right, but the season's not over yet. Attendance probably will rise slightly over the last few games as it has pretty much every year. When all is said and done, I have a feeling that the biggest reason for the shortfall will be the Dallas Burn's drop which equals about a 500 fan drop in the average attendance. Colorado is probably the next biggest culprit, even though I don't think many people are complaining about its 17k average. But they'd be responsible for about a 300 fan drop in the attendance.
