My can't miss prediction of the week: 8,077 at the DC/Metro game Thursday night Other games this week: Sat: KC @ LA DAL @ SJ Sun: NY/NJ @ DC CLB @ NE
8,077 for a key rivalry matchup ain't much to write home about, Thursday or no Thursday. Not shaping up to be a great week. LA should be alright and SJ will be probably reach five figures, but DC and NE are on NFL Sundays, and who knows how much that cut in to the final numbers. Great game last night by the way; highly entertaining.
I'm putting the DC-Metros attendance at 17K. Not enough to offset the poor attendance showing last night.

D.C. United historically does not draw well on weekend afternoon matches.. With this being an NFL Sunday match with the Skin's playing at 1 pm as well, I don't see much of a crowd for this one.. I'd be shocked if 10,000 people show for this game.. The league will automatically count the 7,500 season tickets in their attendance.. I just don't see much of a walk up crowd due to the Skins playing (I'll be in the media room watching the game till United kicks off).. My best guess is right at 10,000...
Ok, I'll fess up to too much optimism. But, given the number of front page articles in the Sports section we've been getting lately, I think the number will be better than 10k. We do conflict with WWC.
OK. I win for the week. 21 fans off here, less than a thousand in LA, my only mess-up thus far in SJ. What's my prize?
I suspect the Revs pitiful attendance has to do with the numerous WWC doubleheaders being played in the same stadium. Soccer overload. Too many matches to go to, even for the diehards.
kind of crappy weather and the game was also moved to make way for a WWC game that was played yesterday, they drew 17k for a non-usa double header.
So the WWc is to blame. Maybe the Breakers folding will help the Rev's attendance next year. Did the Patriots play there earlier today?
You know, when we play these Sunday NFL games, they ought to try showing the local team on the Jumbotron right before the MLS game. Probably too much of a marathon for most folks, but it could get more folks to come out to the game. They won't have to miss the NFL game for soccer and they won't miss any of the soccer game.
Since the Revs and Pats both play at Gillete Stadium, that would be impossible. The Pats were at the Redskins, which would mean a smaller crowd for the DC United game.
