Next up is a derby vs Leverkusen. Seems we play well against the big teams but not so well vs the bad ones. Hard to say what wil happen here. Jantschke is out with his 5th yeallow, which won't help. Hermann is back in training, with a special orthopedic device, but I still would not expect him back for another week or two. I'll take another point for a road draw.
Absolutely agree, we have beaten the big boys..lets hope the trend continues in this away game.We do need the points. All 3 will be better than 1 I just want the squad to get back into full throttle asap ...and get pumped and their feet going for the pokal clash against hollywood I would "NOT" put hermann in the game.Even if he is wearing that "IRON MAN" suit that Robert Downey jr has designed! Clavicles are faulty designs, even a healthy one breaks at midway and pops out easily from the AC joint, let alone ones that already are injured or banged up I was very pleased with wendt and ring, they should play from get go.Lets hope de camargo can find his magic back www.fotobahn.com
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.......... YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSS Was getting so pissed about this game.....thank god the De Camargo that has BITE showed up today! www.fotobahn.com
Great! I think it's safe to say that we will finish the season at least as 4th. 11 points ahead of Leverkusen, 12 to Werder (who lost at Dortmund); that's done.
A much needed and crucial win before our clash against the over payed and arrogant pretty boys of Munich. Am not sure if it's only the loss of Hermann or? Because we have lost some discipline ...too many wrong passes and lots of lost one on one duels against 04 today ...I was also hoping to see more of Alex ring Am not sure what could possibly be going on in Lucien favres head ...preparing for the wend fixture at Borussia park, but a new page in bundlesliga history will be written if we send bayern down the tubes and flush them for good this season into their rightful place...Osram face and their fans should STFU for ever if this happens www.fotobahn.com
Great to see the victory and goals scored! Hopefully it was just a slump or taking time to learn how to play with Hermann - probably both, but this can help get Gladbach going again. I didn't see the game, just the scoreline. Was the game a struggle to win?
Well our opening goal was a cleaver result of taking full advantage of every opportunity that appears and turning it into a goal..but 15 min to the end of the first half they totally took control and they just didn't have the finishing touch and desired penetration ....but they runned the ball all over the pitch and had majority of ball control and possesion and a few good shots inside our box...I think we also appeared rushed and very clumsy in our passing game, made many mistakes when we increased or tried to conduct our one touch fast pace game..something that so far has been our killer weapon so ..we did however suddenly drop massive amount of pressure before the 2 goal which eventually resulted in the winning strike of de camargo...he already screwed up a clear one on one tho...and am glad he made up for it.Ring should have gotten more play time we need that guy IMO against bayern....never seen Lucien favre act like how he did after our second goal...total euphoria, I hope he has not runner out of solutions to compensate hermanns loss.....we need all our tactical smarts against the trash from munich www.fotobahn.com
Thanks for the information - good stuff. One of the things I felt about the team this year was that they were having fun. Of course, winning and scoring goals can do that! However, with the Reus transfer, Hermann injury, and Cup and top four finish pressure, I wonder if the team lost some fun element to the game. Maybe Favre's reaction was a sign the fun is back. I don't want to trade fun for tactics, but both can go a long way.
You can't blame them, this squad has been under immense "monster - like " pressure ever since the relegation battle started,So technically they have been forced to playing "mistake-free" football with their backs to the wall... since the start of last seasons second half after the winter break...so you have to really appreciate what they have done so far.In many ways i think there should be no negative comments about them...but as humans we also can't help thinking about winning more..and now that we are this far we must finish strong. The combination of all this can take away from the fun aspects..also we still aint deep enough in many of our lines to feel less under pressure say when we lose a key player...or need to mix it up tac tic wise..so the structure was formed correctly by favre..but nobody expected this unit take it so far...and now not having depth has caused us some problem....i truly hope the boys can grill bayern for a 3rd time at borussia park..this will go down HUGE in bundesliga history, and entering champ leagues will give us some space to move and breath financially.... www.fotobahn.com
(Igor looks pissed, though Well, Lucien's unexpected emotion break-out is evidence of this game's importance. Thankfully we managed to enforce the turnaround after 3 games without a win just against our main rival for spot 4. Bravissimo! Great feeling to score the late winner exactly at the same minute when we conceded the 0:1 in Nürnberg ... our 10,000 - 12,000 away fans (who created a home match atmosphere) simply went nuts. ) Spot 4 is almost secured (sensational achievement), so let's try to finish even 3rd now when knowing that this spot means direct qualification for the CL group stage (in contrast to spot 4). But it's surely gonna be very tough against "Schulden 04" Schalke with all their offensive power (they won 4:1 in Lautern today and are just 1 point behind). Btw: By bringing Ring (superb scene before our 2:1 winner) and DeCamargo (finally cool finishing again), Lucien Favre did everything right. And it's great to see Reus (1 goal + 1 superb assist ... he could have scored 2 more goals, though) back in shape ahead of the Bayern clash. Well, we only did what we needed to do in order to win (saving power for the Cup semi-final). ) Scored an early goal, then sat back and defended well (not allowing them any serious chances) ... missed the 2:0 after the interval (Marco tried to copy Messi) and gifted them the equalizer due to a chain of mistakes (it was MATS' first serious mistake in our dress after 2 "semi-mistakes" against H96 & BvB) ... then we suddenly started playing nice football again, dominating them & creating 3 top scoring opportunities before we finally scored the late winner (what sensational counter attack). Really impressive team reaction after the 1:1 (the guys badly wanted the win)! Kudos! Well am glad someone else noticed, his been pissed for a while now...lots of attitude,i think he should act like a pro and be quiet..seems his mad why he does not have a starting line up spot and is used like a super sub or last min joker...thing is he was injured for so long plus favre is not a coach to leave a player out unless its really a good reason behind it,de camargo has scored the most vital goals for gladbach...and he should be proud and wait till his time comes around...he was UBER pissed after the goal...but even in the past few games he seemed pissed and not very happy about things! Anyway the boys should sharpen their senses and mental focus because its slaughter time and munich is our prey Those who attend this game..will be part of history in the making.I do really feel stupid...once the draw came out i should have booked my flight and purchased a ticket for this one.Everything about this season has a special magical vibe to it..and a 3rd win against the sissies from the capitol will just be a perfect chapter to the rest of this amazing story! www.fotobahn.com
