Whatever would make you think that???

This isn't, by the way, a Photoshop edit. I took this the day before the match as they were setting up for MLS Cup last year.

Nope. Frank's got the groundskeepers narrowing the field to 50 yards as we speak.

(Yeah I know most of their games are away.)

RSL still isn't going to make the playoffs, but they're going to take points off of playoff contenders from here on out.

You don't get too many "spoiler" teams in this league, because those eliminated from an 8-team playoff structure are putrid (yes, I know they still have a mathematical chance) and usually don't suddenly improve toward the end of the season.

Colorado's trip to RSL on the 22nd is going to be one to watch.

We've been hearing those announcements for BS at Wizards games for quite a while this season.

Kickoff in Columbus for a game that is important for both the Crew and the Rapids as they fight for position at the bottom of the playoff table. The teams are tied on 27 points following 22 games apiece.

Crew fans, anyone know why this game is kicking off so early on a holiday weekend?

Big change or Colorado is no Terry Cooke (not even on the bench), either a late scratch due to injury or the latest victim of Clavijo-itis.

Telefutura announcers just discussed Terry Cooke, but I don't know spanish. :(

Why is there grid-iron lines in Columbus?

    {Ismitje checks the RSL boards to see if we have become a three-time recipient of Clavijo's inexplicable largesse :D}

On first viewing, that goal looked absolutely offside, but the replay shows Gaven clearly on when he began the run, and the Rapids defenders just sort of let him go. 1-0 Columbus as the half ends.

Pablo Mastroeni is getting hammered today - that's not what I'm accustomed to seeing, but if he gets hit hard a few more times, he may not make it the full 90.

Oh, well. The Ismitje family is off to church, which, I suspect, is where the Columbus fans are as well. Enjoy the second half.

Isn't that a bit embarrassing? Why not make the lines fainter? They're playing gridiron in a soccer stadium, not the other way around.

Chicago rooting for Colorado now, they would love a draw in this game.

There's a link to BS on MLSnet.

Man, that was absolutely pathetic from Jacob Thomas. Should be 2-0, but his shot was actually going wide there!

    Take that, Bobby Convey.

This was an empty net miss from 6 yards.

PS. From my limited Spanish, Terry Cook blew out his knee and had surgery.

Why is this is always the worst fixture of the year?

not saying the teams themselves are not to blame, but when a ref allows SO MANY fouls w/o giving out cards....then the game goes on forever with constant interruptions, and it kills a lot of the enthusiasm for watching the game,.....turns into a wrestling match...

Not bad Casey.... Heck if Heskey was called for England....maybe Connor can.... oh my goodness.... i won't go there.... Bradley si not that desperate, is he?

I'm confused. I thought it was an amazing save by Bouna. It looked a sure thing until Bouna snagged it.

--I initially thought it was a poor shot coupled with a great save but the shot was heading way off to the left. It probably would have gone out for a goal kick.
