Naughton longball to(ward) Press, B.Taylor intercepts and pokes left to Gibbons, she passes to LaBonta in circle back left. LaBonta curls away from pressure, Kelly makes a sprint through Chicago's high back line way up along circle (their) back. LaBonta sees that, perfect mini-lob bounces over them all at 28m arc left as Kelly gets 1m behind Naughton and 2m past Mautz. Naeher is stranded waiting at 10m left post, Kelly one-touch lob from arc top left, perfectly over Naeher to goalline center, bounces into center back mid-high. 80' GOAL - @maegskell with a chip from the top of the 18 to put @FCKansasCity up 3-1!#CHIvKC pic.twitter.com/cpvPcNwvCQ— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) August 20, 2017 Wow, and KC is doing this on the road for 9 points in 8 days (HOU 0-1, 2-1 POR).
80' 1-3 Chicago subs in (2 of 3) #19 Summer Green for #7 Taylor Comeau. 83' 1-3 Chicago subs in (3 of 3) #30 Lauren Kaskie for #16 Samantha Johnson. 89' 1-3 Kansas City subs in (3 of 3) #21 Caroline Flynn for #14 Sydney Leroux. +3'. 90+2' (of +3') 1-3 Barnhart drop-kick high to circle top wide right, Groom jumps facing away and flick-heads past Short, spins cw past her and races Naeher to ball at 28m box right. Both miss ball, Groom tries to hurdle Naeher and Naeher clips her trailing leg, producing a half-somersault. Foul, only a yellow card on Naeher: Short and Naughton were behind her, so not DOGSO. FT 1-3. KC pulls themselves into a tie with Houston on 23 pts, only 2 wins behind Orlando for 4th.
I wish someone somewhere in the world has betted about that and won. On the other hand, I, for sure, have missed quite all of my predictions this week, including this CHI 1 KC 3!
luv this league!!! ...seems you cannot assume your 3 points! ...glad vladtko didn't get fired when fckc were unable to win for many weeks!! ... sam kerr is money!!!
Not sure what getting K.Mewis does for Chicago's remaining season after the last few weeks. She led Washington in shots apparently but was basically pushed out because of Pugh. Late sub impact maybe but just don't see that happening with her to be worth a 1st round pick. And its their defense right now that is suffering most which I don't think this does anything for. Yes, Sam Kerr can single-handedly win a game but that's Sam Kerr (and even then, that was some bad defending from Seattle)
