I am playing Salmon For All away this week.

He has a strong team but rarely logs in and rarely arranges friendlies.

He had a much stronger team than mine a couple of seasons ago, but now we are even. His training program must be in the crapper if he is not playing friendlies.

He has not logged in since May 5, how long before his team becomes inactive/ a bot?

I beat him at my place 1-0 earlier in the season so it should be a very close match. If I win I will more or less have second place in the bag. If I lose I risk slipping to fourth or fifth.

I am saving my MOTS until next week against #3 Atoms.

He should be on the verge of losing his team, I figure either next week, or after the season is over he'll lose his team. Which will mean if he stays up, you'll have two automatic 5-0 wins next year, because they will be walkovers, and they can't replace Div IV teams with new teams.

I play fourth place Timbuktu Rockets this week. They are coming off convincing wins over the number 3 and number 5 teams. They are also the only team to beat the first place team this year. I am MOTS this game for few main reasons. 1) If I win and number 3 loses to MoKan the number 1 team, I guarantee myself 2nd place. 2) My final league match is against a team who got smoked the last two weeks 14-0 by the number 1 and number 3 teams, and he hasn't logged in since right after he got his team. So I am not really worried about him, especially since I can have second wrapped up this week. 3) I just want to beat him, he beat me early this season (3-0) and now I want to get payback:)

PS I love the R that we now have in these threads:)

    7 weeks.

    From the Hattrick FAQ:
If you do not log on for 5 weeks you get a reminder via e-mail. If you still do not log on for the next two weeks you lose the team.

I've got a walkover. My last two games are pointless to me.

Yeh, I just read that too. By the time the new season starts I should have a good idea whether he is done or not.

Im 5th in my league and play the 4th and 6th placed teams in the next 2 weeks. I think i can beat the 6th placed team and im hoping for a good result at the 4th placed team so i get a worse team in next seasons cup

well, hopefully by winning the games i'll finish about 4th and wont have to play a team in the top 4 divisions. Apparently my teams previous owners never got the club passed the 1st round so im hoping i can be the 1st one to do it :)

speaking of possible walkovers, I was looking at the Cup Rank site, http://www.lysator.liu.se/~frid/hattrick/HTCR/
to see who I'd play next year, but that's not why I am posting, although at the moment I play a bot. I posted because at the moment, it looks like the team that would demote down to my division is an abandoned team.

Also looking at that, the worst team in the whole of US hattrick is actually a human player, check out there stats
    Seaside Soleil 0- 91 0 . Now that's just plain bad.

I have a key match on the road against Baton Rouge Bombers. They are 7th in the league and a victory will put me in 7th. I also need for Strike #6 to get demolished.

I'm playing the #5 team this week. I'm #1 for the time being. I'm playing away after a MOTS last week that netted me 3 points and 4 injuries (+ another in the BS Cup).

Will likely be much closer than I like, but I should still win. Who knows if the HT Gods will try to take me down a notch or two? If I win, I have a chance at capturing the series trophy for the first time ever. But, even if I do win, I've got a tough final season game against the team that relegated from Div 4. Thankfully it's at my place. Now if I could only get/keep everyone healthy before then, I'll have a shot.

    3. Bay County Blues 12 34 - 38 19
    4. FC Clydesdales 12 33 - 23 18
    5. Albito FC 12 30 - 34 18
    6. Norge Vikings 12 31 - 28 16
    7. Madison Maulers 12 12 - 45 6
    8. AngerManagement 12 7 - 48 3

    Week 13
    Madison Maulers - Norge Vikings
Big Daddys - Bay County Blues
Real Sociedad 0052 - FC Clydesdales
    Albito FC - AngerManagement

    Week 14:
    FC Clydesdales - Big Daddys
    AngerManagement - Madison Maulers
Norge Vikings - Real Sociedad 0052
Bay County Blues - Albito FC

I am still aiming at 4th, but that's a lot harder now since Bay County upset Real Sociedad last week. I am still technically alive for 3rd, but probably won't get it. :/

After this week I should be up to 5th, tied with Bay County (ahead of FC and behind Albito by 2 still) and then I will MOTS Real to try to get that win, hopefully Albito beats Bay County, just cuz I hate Bay County, and then FC will lose again to Big Daddys, so Albito should get 3rd, I'll get 4th, Bay County 5th, and FC 6th. (Hopefully!! :D)

Last week I MOTS'd my match but ended up losing. What effects will MOTS'ing the next two matches for the hell of it have? I don't plan on doing this but I am asking out of curiousity.

Much depends on your TS. The lower it goes, the less of an effect MOTS will have. And of course, it won't recover without use of PIC, much. I think you'll find that the MOTS effect will decrease with each consecutive use of it. I would definitely avoid using it consecutively like that.

I logged on to Hattrick just now and found the new Bottom Division Federation has a discussion of both TS and confidence. Find the link here.

The only time I'd consider a consecutive MOTS is at the end of the season, games #13 and #14 where #13 is a must win, and you've got nothing to gain by not MOTSing #14, unless you play a qualifier.

    Last season, I MOTSd 13 and 14.

This is exactly what I am doing this season. I am MOTS this week, not really because it's must win, but because I want second, and to get second, I have to need to win my last two. Although I could probably take second by only winning one of the last two, I want to win both. My final game is just because I have no reason not to MOTS, and it'll be fun to put a hurting on this team who's owner hasn't logged in in like 5 weeks.:)

I've got the #2 team in the division but I'm five points clear and have the last place team for the last game. Smooth sailing to the qually. I just need my league leading striker to have his third hattrick of the season and pick up the golden boot. Papa needs a new set of IM's for next season.

Ok... so it doesn't make a big difference if MOTS my next two matches even though TS is furious and will get reset after the second game? That's how it seems like you guys are explaining it to me.

Yes, your team spirit will be reset in the offseason. Question is, should you MOTS this week's match? If it is another must win game, then sure. And for the final match of the season (unless you are expecting a quallie) you ought to MOTS. Otherwise, if this week is not a must win game, play it normal or cool - then MOTS the final match.

I pulled a passable keeper to shore up my depleted ranks for this week's game. My starter will be out for the remainder of the season.

I will PIC this week. My recent German transfer made a hit on my TS. I swear, you'd think my players would realize with an owner of German descent they would treat my new player better.

I will MOTS the last game of the season, because there is no reason not to. I'm curious to see how my ratings will be after I do it.

Do you really need to PIC this week though? Unless your team spirit is absolute crap I think playing normal this week and MOTS next you will easily win next week.

Since you and the Assimilators are pretty evenly matched if you play normal today you have a very good shot at winning thanks to the home team advantage but if you PIC you are throwing that advantage away.

Won my match 3-2, a player I was only starting due to some poor form from other IM's, scores two. The win puts me far enough ahead where I am now assured of second place in my series. I also solded out my stadium this week, 25,500 people came out for the final home game of the season. Gonna enlarge to 33K this offseason. The cool thing is that this game will pay for that expansion, the expansion cost $162K and I made $170K this game.
