Yeah its definitely a weird day to have games..... if anything they should have had them last Wednesday when there weren't any other sports playing *cough* baseball *cough*

They had a summer camp day so the kids could come. By far the worst marketing idea by Red Bull for this team, and that is saying quite a lot.
Oh I wasn't just trying to single out the Red Bulls, I just meant the league as a whole. The MLB all star game was last Tuesday so that meant that last Wednesday there was absolutely nothing sports wise on TV. MLS probably could have gotten at least one of these games on ESPN 2
Oh I know, I was trying to single out the Red Bulls. The idea to have a game when 95% of the fan base has to work is just awful, and they did so to allow for a Summer Camp day.....idiotic, since the kids can still come at night but the adults can't go during the day.
Well, everybody in the world except the folks at NYRB knew that putting a game on on a weekday while everyone was at work was going to be a disaster. It was the stupidest idea in the history of the league. The only people who didn't know it was going to be an epic failure was Red Bull front office.
It's not that they were having a game while other sports were having games. It's that they put it on while everyone was at work. If there had been no sports going on, it would still have been a massive failure.
I was thinking that, too. I'd have MLS schedule games the day after the MLB has their All-Star Game just to belie the now tiresome "one day a year when there is no sports" thing.
