I would rather stick pins in my eyes then spend 2 hours watching 3rd rate South American futbol teams who bring their U-20's and C teamers.

downside to this doubleheaders are all this teams with reserve players, trying to fool us. I guess the Metros management hasn't learned their lesson, people can't be fooled. I just hope they are making money on this.

mods...please move this thread to the "Who gives a sh!t about baseball" forum...

as for the peru/ecuador friendly....i could care less....

another set up for another soccer bashing opportunity for the local media in a metro article that says "attendance was 8,932, most of whom were there to see the second game between...."

but hey...if the metros end up making money somehow...that's fine....

I say we all show up! Wearing the colors of our favorite sides! The Metros will make a fortune, and the "soccer fans" and "futbol fanaticos" can square-off and stage a first-class riot. Just as happens occasionally south of our border. Maybe the news media in the U.S. will declare soccer has finally come of age in America as a result of this! Think positively!

Actually Ecuador vs Bulgaria(?) drew about 35K last year mid week

    why wouldn't Peru draw more?

Ecuador doesn't have the pre-World Cup hype heading into this summer. And I believe the friendly drew about 45K, they opened up the upper deck.

What game is being moved to make this a doubleheader? Will they play Chicago on Wednesday night instead of Saturday? That Saturday game was originally listed as an ESPN game though I guess they could move another Saturday game to 4:00. Personally, I hate it when they move these Saturday games to Wednesday as I work Wednesday nights and can't make these games. I know that these are probably important money makers, but I hate it!!

Maybe none. Perhaps the Metros will be playing an exhibition against a club team from someplace (Mexico?).
