    Mods can you please sticky.

Just to start it's own thread ...

I have already started working on tickets for the Midnight Riders and other Revs fans that want to make the trip out to Ludlow.

As I posted on the other thread, anyone in the area, if they can make a call to the bar and warn them we'll be hitting there around 4, that would be great. I know last year their kitchen had to be opened early for us, so I hope they'll do the same this time.

As of now, I've been told they are not doing group ticketing, and tickets will be going on sale to the general public on Monday. I've placed a call into the Revs to see if they know anything about this, and I've been told they will try and work something out so we can do group tickets.

More news as soon as I have it.

Magpie asked the question in the old thread, but it seemed better to answer it here...

From the fine print on the back of my ticket from last night, "The following constitutes a partial list of prohibited items: bottles, cans, collers, thermos, alcoholic beverages, drugs, poles, weapons, fireworks, flares."

While poles are expressly prohibited, I would think that a friendly conversation might still be worth having. They were good about the banners, considering the fence is filled with advertizing.

I wouldn't mind calling the bar if I had a decent sense of the number, 15? 20? 25?

    Bummer.

I do recall last year Doug Julien brought in a flag on a pole with no complaints, but it sure wouldn't hurt to get an official clearance.

We had about 25 or so last year right? Or even more maybe. I'd be surprised if we don't have at least that many this time.

what? that can't be. are you sure. maybe you spoke to an incompetant/new person or something. they did group tix via the phone for the fire/pioneers match as long as you order 6 min. or....maybe they just don't 'discount' the tix in 'advance', but still able to buy the 6+ or something?

anyway, keep us posted.....i'm in for at least 4 tix i'm guessing.

Not so sure about that. My friend and I tried that last year at the Big Y in Walpole, and they had absolutely no idea what we were talking about. I think I'll just try to get tickets at the stadium like last year.

Also, I can't wait for some bifana :D

    Central Mass.

Myself and a friend will be going to the match. What is the name of the bar that you're talking about?

If I remember correctly, the name of the bar is Mateus.

It's just down the block from the stadium, and it's only a two minute walk (if we all go together singing like last time). Parking there is free, and it is a bit easier to get out of there than it is with the on-street parking.

    Central Mass.

Cool. I drove past the place last night. I settled for the stadium bifana and $4 beer. I think I can swing the upgrade.

After the goal in the 5th minute, I hoped that the Pioneers could swing a "Game of Their Lives" performance. Not meant to be...

I'm interested in learning more about group tix.

Monty, if there is no group sale I can go to Big Y monday and see if they have tickets. If so I can buy up what they have if there is a demand for them from the riders and who ever posts here. they had what looked to be about 15-20 tickets for the Pioneers game last night

I tried at the Worcester 'Big Y' for yesterday's game, no tickets. They said only the "western" Big Ys sell them. Not sure which ones yet, I haven't checked around.

There is a 'Big Y' in Ludlow on the way to the stadium, but they won't sell tickets day of game (yes, tried that last night too).

kind of off topic, I beleive flags arent allowed into Gillette but that could make the fort look alot nicer. Has anyone ever tried bringing a flag and do you think it would be strictly enforced? Would it be possible to bring in like certain types of poles into the stadium. For example, a lightweight hollow flagpole that can do little or no harm...I got a Benfica flagpole with a little work I can make a REVs flag out of it

No disrespect, but I'm getting sick of reading this every single year.

Seriously, the flag issue has been addressed. The rules at Gillette are what they are and they are not going to change. Live with it and come up with a reasonable alternative.

Regarding tickets. The Pioneers tickets are usually available in all western mass BigY's. I work at one in springfield and the tickets will be available there on Thursday for $10.

The phone number for this store is... 413-732-0419 or 413-732-0450 open every day from 7a-10p.

attendance for the last game was 3200. Excellent numbers for a stadium that holds... what... 2000.

This has been discussed a fair bit in previous threads.

I agree that flags would make The Fort look nicer, but Gillette Stadium security is quite strict about allowing flags in, at least no flagpoles, and while there's a stipulation that they are allowed (but no longer than 2 feet), I recall several occassions where fans were not allowed in with them, even if in accordance with expressed stadium rules.

FWIW, groups such as The Midnight Riders have inquired about this, also lobbying for their being allowed in, but Revolution and/or Gillette Stadium officials are pretty adamant that they won't be allowed in, safety being a key issue.

I talked with Ana the cook at Mateus Restaurant this afternoon. She said "no problem!" She also asked whether we wanted to order off the menu or order something special! The restaurant's web site is here Check out the menu and reply with your requests so I can call Ana back.

Oh, this is going to be great! Now, should we also organize a foosball tourney on the very cool vintage table that has METAL players? (the sound is well worth the whole quarter that it costs to play, not to mention that the players are painted to look like Sporting and Benefica, but sadly none of the Benefica players are shown bleeding or missing teeth :D)
