Good game for Beas ... got Lauren sent off by standing on the sideline looking menacing, then rattled Viera into a second yellow as well. At least that's how it looked from my vantage point.

    ;)

Although PSV seemed frustrated by not getting the win with the two man advantage. They had a lot of the ball around the area, but really couldn't get much in the area. Only a few chances.

I thought that Farfan was a stand-out for PSV. The defenders were troubled several times. I forgot Cocu was on the pitch. Park was in and out of the game. van Bommel was all over the place (in a good way.)...Gomes was good, but not too many times called upon.

Henry was the difference maker for Arsenal (surprise). Ljungberg (I know I miss the spelling on that alot) and Reyes were good. Lauren's second challenge was plain stupid. Tackled Lee with a scissors to the waist! And it wasn't that necessary. Vieira's looked bad live, and as it fit in the flow I see why the ref called it a yellow. The replay suggested that it was a harsh second yellow Pires was nothing and so he was subbed first (I didn't notice he was gone until van Persie did something, and even then didn't know who had left. I presume it was Pires in hindsight.)

The announcers were homers for Arsenal. They felt that Arsenal were dominating between the PSV goal and the Vieira send-off. I felt it was more even. Back and forth. Certainly Arsenal had a few more dangerous chances, but not much. But then I was a homer for PSV. So, you be the judge when you see the replay.

I'll try to review any questions now.

I suppose some will want a review on DMB. Well, he made a few bad passes. He made a few dangerous runs or crosses. Not a stellar outing for someone trying to earn a starting spot.

As I watched the Vitesse game last week, he looked lost most of the first half and then settled in later in the game. Perhaps he has trouble getting into the flow with the team, as he again seemed uncertain of his role/positioning. Sometimes it was good and clear and he did ok/well. Other times not.

For those who want to see him get the start in place of Farfan, it's time for plan B focusing on how he gets on the field with Farfan. That may well be very effective while VoH is hurt as I thought Sibon was nothing today. And Farfan was effective in the middle with DMB on the left.

Looks like DMB scored an Arsenal jersey. Any idea whose jersey it was?

Interesting observations. It seems, going from what you have said, that the more time he gets on the pitch with the first team, the more comfortable he gets with the flow of the game. I say that he might look a bit 'lost' in the flow of play until he starts getting more 90-minute outtings with the club. I guess it might be harder for a guy trying to adjust to a completely new style of play when he is only coming on as a second half sub for most of the games.

Lauren or Henry. Just a guess though. The name looks short and the first number looks like 1.

Durring the highlights I could have sworn I saw DMB defending Henry in the box on a shot that went wide, I think the Jersey is Henry's.

I wonder who made the first move to exchange jerseys: Beasley or Henry? Was it Beasley's idea or was it Henry's idea? (I know if I was Beasley's shoes, I'd be quick to exchange shirts with Henry :D)

oh my God. I know it doesn't look like it from the photo's but V. Persie never ever got touched in that exchange. He hit the ground pretended like he was hurt, then peaked up to see if the other guy was hurt by HIS wreckless challenge...They stretchered him off into the tunnel to save face because Flamini was coming on for him anyway cause v. Persie was terrible..he came on as a sub onlt to be subed off himself..

    V. Persire was a total **********...

I watched the game too and i agree with your assesment. DMB wasn't terribly effective, he did make good drives to the end line to earn corners or get a cross off but never anything to dangerous. He did make a couple BAD passes that lead to imediante counter attackes by a 9 man Arsenal. Overall not bad but not good either. Farfan was giving Arsenal problems al game and is obvoiusly the first choice on the left. DMB needs to step up if he wants to be a first 11 with Farfan in the mix.

I agree with what's been written by "Onionsack" and "Cyclone" (great pbp b.t.w.), it was a bit so/so, but it's extremely difficult getting into a match like that. He had one great run into the penalty area but one of the Arsenal defenders could just turn it into a cornerkick before it got dangerous, I think he would've been sharper in that situation had he played from the beginning. Overall it was a tough game, and in games like this you see that it wouldn't be bad if he gained a bit weight because that's what makes the difference at the moment between DMB and Farfán. Farfán is better at keeping the ball from defenders in "one on one" situations and that's what PSV needed against a strong opponent like this, being able to move as a block forward and back and don't let Arsenal's forwards slip through the lines like they want to. It was a wonderful team-effort though, I'm glad to see how mature this PSV is playing considering they almost had to build a complete new team from scratch.

yeah he's a total princess, but in his defense, when he walked past me he was limping with one of those air cast sort of things on his foot
