A little bird told me that the Rapids site will be up in the next 24 Hours! Great news! So now everyone can quite the moaning and groaning.
A little birdie told me I'm sexy. Hopefully at least one of the birdies is correct. Cheers, BilFish ================ http://bilfish.com/rapids/
I will be impressed. The original deadline was April 15th so this would put them ahead of schedule. I hope you are right.
That would definitely be a good piece of news. I can't wait to see it, then complain about how much it sucks!!
It is not moaning and groaning to expect professionalism from the Rapids & KSE! Stop the ass kissing! The Rapids and KSE cannot get off that easily. They have been diliquent for 6 months already. Indeed, they have been the only MLS team without an active up to date website. There are no valid excuses. They simple have no respect for the Rapids nor Rapids fans!!!
What is so bone headed about the "fans" is that all you ever do is complain. Did you ever take into consideration that the website was undergoing major changes perhaps even the fact the the site was previously controlled by AEG and that the entire organization of the Rapids was changing from the ground up. Once you see the website I think you will have second thoughts about things. Unless you work for them I really don't see how you can say that the KSE group is unprofessional and that the Rapids are unprofessional and that they have no Respect for the Fans...Are you still getting invoices etc? Did you buy your tickets? have they even once not looked after the fans? Give me examples other than the website. Spell it out for me! I have been treated so well my my account executive and I can call the offices anytime for updated information. The website was a minor glitch in things big deal. I don't need the website to make me a fan! It will be great to have the site up again...but I don't need it!
1. No TV deal as of 3pm MST today, with the season starting in 72 hours 2. No movement to fix obvious problems in management (Hankinson/Counce) in the offseason There's 2 just off the top of my head. As a Rapids fan who doesn't live in Denver, they've given me no reason to give them any money this season. I'd call that a failure...
Hmm....Well Hankinson may not be the best coach but Mr. Counce has never given me a reason not to like him. As for TV Last I heard...which I think it is on the FNRM website. They were going to show 6 home games and 5 away games. So...that sounds like a tv schedule to me not counting the ESPN Games and ABC games. So I think that is a pretty good tv schedule. And my friedn at Fox Sports said the League was the hold up on that. Once the league announced their schedule then the local schedules could be announced! So patience! I think that is the key to it all!
I haven't found a list of FOX broadcast games for the season, but I did notice the "Colorado vs. Dallas" scheduled for Saturday. http://www.foxsports.com/named/FS/Regional/RockyMtn?date=1080975600&platformCode=1&searchSport=&categoryId=276

You know ... the website thing did blow ... but if the league was going to a league wide website type thing ... it was sort of out of KSE's hands. They have my forgiveness in this ... unless the website sucks! But then I guess I'd be angry with MLS not KSE.
I talked to a friend about it and they told me that they had to wait until the League finished the schedule so that Fox could see what they had available. But I think we fared well in the grtand scheme of things. There are some great games being broadcast!
Oh I call BS on that one. Every other team announced their TV schedule by the end of last week save Dallas. In fact some of them announced their schedule close to a month ago. And I still haven't seen any "official" announcement for the Rapids or FSN about this. Not that I doubt your schedule, I don't, but a fan shouldn't have to rely on another fan on a message board who has a contact at FSN to get the TV schedule.
Well there you have it the schedule is right there! 2004 COLORADO RAPIDS TV SCHEDULE DAY DATE OPPONENT Time TV Sat. April 3 at Dallas 6:30 FSN Sat. April 17 Los Angeles 7:00 FSN Sat. Actually due to a family illness, there will be a delay in updates on Rapidsfan.com. The links on the right side will continue to be updated, but the main news content will be static for the next couple of weeks.
I pulled this from my post in "five days until.." OK OK so I was told 24 Hours..Now it seems that the League is holding it up with some Licencing crap. I am begining to think that it is not KSE that is the bad guy but maybe MLS! I think they liked having control over the team and KSE is not letting them have control, so the League is pushing their weight and holding things up for the Rapids! Maybe it was easy to push around Anschutz? And not as easy to push around Kroenke! Just a thought! ANd as far as them hating the fans!! That is so rediculous...there is not a reason in this world to suggest that KSE is FAN HATING! People are so warped in thier preceptions. Unless we work for them really we have no right to say such things. I think we all need to have faith that they are doing everything that they can to get the season up and running! Hell at least we are not SJ Quakes! THey have a great website and no fan base! at least we have a fan base and know what is important! Support of the players when they take to the pitch!
Here's a little more info on the TV coverage that may be available to those of you who care to subscribe to the Dish Network. For those of you who have the DISH Network satelite....... they are currently offering the MLS 2004 season pkg to you for $69. ( I signed up this morning). That pkg includes 123 regular season matches, plus the playoffs. In those 123 games I counted at least 26 that were the Rapids games. They will also offer a monthly HD pkg for $9.99 that includes a weekly MLS game. Some of those games will include the Rapids. PS. If you haven't seen a soccer match on high definition television, you are going to be in for a nice surprise. adios Miguel sends
League-wide website forthcoming or not, every other MLS team has maintained their own individual site in the interim (and updated them).
