Looks like the Burn added a Flash intro to the team website: Dallas Burn The site itself seems the same, but they added the intro. I don't know if this has been addressed in the past, but I think the Burn site overall is pretty weak. I continue to hear that MLS is in the process of putting all the team sites under one umbrella (i.e. MLB) and I hope that process improves the site overall. But I like the intro addition. Also, did anyone hear Pareja on the radio last night - can you recap?
Well - for a "flash" intro - it doesn't have a whole lot of flash. Its more like a big pop-up. Another unfortunate development is that now the Burn soccer store link takes you directly to mlsgear.com. I can only hope this is being done while a re-work to the store is underway - with more items being available. What are we Colorado now? The Burn web store has always been kind of lame - but mlsgear is even lamer. Beyond the replica jerseys, MLS merchandise is crap. Did you ever read the Stephen King short story where this guy is stranded on a desert island? He has no food and so he starts to eat himself, rationalizing that if he doesn't eat his toes he'll die. So he eats his toes. Then he eats his foot. Still no food, so he eats more of himself until he can't move. And he dies. This reminds of some of the moves HSG has made to save this team money.
So gross, yet so poignant. Maybe that's why HSG teams have reached MLS Cup exactly once in 17 tries (KC eight seasons, Clb eight season, Dal one season).
