Does this year's recruiting class match up to last year's? My opinion is that last year's class was especially strong with the addition of numerous youth national team players who graduated early and entered college a year early. Should we expect a weaker recruiting class this year?

How in the world could one possibly know the relative strength of any given recruiting year until they lace em up and get some game time? These are developing players, you just never know how things will turn out. Secondly, no one person can possibly evaluate all the talent out there available to be recuited by colleges.

If you measure a recruiting class by the number of high profile players, then this class will be weaker. Last year you had most of the u-17 team along with a few older guys like Brad Guzan, Jed Zayner, and Ramon Nunez. This year, you won't have the same number of big names, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. Topdrawersoccer.com has a list of top college recruits, I'm sure some of them will have great years, but as the previous poster said, it's too early to tell.

I think this year's class will have less of an impact than last year's. You won't see any teams like St. Louis ;oaded with outstanding freshmen.
