    Thanks.

Konami of America has today announced that Winning Eleven 6 will be released in North America in March 2003. The Winning Eleven games are the best-selling PS2 soccer games in Europe, and are expected to do very well here in the states. The game has even outsold the likes of EA Sports' FIFA series in Europe, which says a lot for the quality of the game. Known as Pro Evolution Soccer overseas, the game has always featured a roster that is appropriate to the territory it is released in.

"Soccer fans around the world have declared Winning Eleven as their favorite soccer game. Now, North American soccer fans have a chance to see what they've been missing," said Robert Goff, product manager at Konami of America. "Winning Eleven elevates the genre to new levels with superior visuals and exciting gameplay, setting the standard by which all others will be judged."

Thats a little info i found out about it.

The game only have FIFPro license meaning that there are no official team kit or team's name. The FIFPro only covers players' name and likeness. But even that has its limits because it mostly cover European players. But the player and team's name can be easily edited with the game editor. So are the kits. Winning Eleven games are known for their gameplay and is the purest soccer simulation out there. If you like fancy graphics and official license teams and players, this game is not for you. If you can ignore those factors, then this game is the best soccer simulation in the market.

I've played the Japanese version called WE6 Final Evolution and this game is an absolute gem. In beating EA's FIFA 2003 by miles, it is IMHO the best ever arcade footie game on this planet.

EA can really kiss Konami's a$$. Every aspect of the game is close to perfection. It really goes to show that those idiots at EA know nothing about football while the guys at Konami are really passionate about it. Get this game and see for yourself. After playing it, you'll never want to touch FIFA again.

so your saying that they cant put the real name of the club? That is pretty stupid. Still sounds like a good game.

Does anyone know why they wouldnt get whatever license they need to put the real name of the club.

Because it cost a boat load of money to get individual club license. EA pretty much bought up all the top leagues license for FIFA. So Konami and even SONY can't get the license for club names. Buying license for a leauge as a whole is cheaper than buying individual club license. The same goes for players name for most international teams because the FIFPro license only covers European players. For authentic kits and appropriate logos, there are license for that also. I do believe that Konami does have the license for the US and Argentina as well as most European team with the exception of Holland. But like I said before, the name can edit as well as the club badge and kits with the game editor. If you don't mind those things, then you will enjoy WE6 because of the gameplay.

Do you know if this is the reason some games (World Tour and FIFA come to mind) have omitted the Dutch National team and/or its league? I can't imagine why their league license would cost any more than the rest, but I've seen games that did not have the Orange nats.

Is this game editor available for the PS2 version, and not just the PC version? Can the keeper's kit be changed as well?

Does the game have In-game management? Before 2003, FIFA and WTS allowed you to change formations and strategies during the run of play from choices selected just before the game. This is the most important feature EA left off this year's FIFA.

Does the game have a Spanish commentator option? I sometimes use that on FIFA 2003 for a change of pace (I don't speak Spanish, but it reminds me of the matches I've seen on FSE), and to bring even more realism to the game.

    Do the stadia look authentic?

Is there a practice mode for PKs, free kicks and corner kicks?

Does the instant replay have pan and zoom?

    Re: Re: Re: We6?

There is no PC version, if there was, FIFA might as well be dead. PES or Winning Eleven is only available on the PS2. There is a Winning Eleven coming for the GameCube but that is only in Japan. Konami is thinking about having the series on other consoles like the XBOX and Gamecube as well as PC. SONY might have something to say about that depending on how much SONY is willing to pay KONAMI to have the series being exclusive to the PS2.

This game is a SIMULATION at its finest. If you are a hardcore footie fan. This is a must game. TIF or World Soccer Tour has nothing compare to this game. It has every formations imaginable. You can set the defense (specific defender) to man mark or play zone. You can set any player to be offensive minded or defensive minded. All of this can be done at any time before and during the game. You can save your formation and load it up before/during the game. If you have ever played CM, you know how the player's attributes are. There are over 20 different individual skill attributes. Winning Eleven has the same deal. The stars players behave like they do in real life. Roberto Carlos got his trade mark free kick train motion, and Beckham has his signature free kicking style.
The training has everything. You can practice free kicks, corner kicks, and even play a scrimmage. There are also little games that you can play like passing, free kick, and dribbling which if you gain certain points will get you one of the great classic players. Speaking of classic players, you can the great classic teams like Germany, England, Argentina, Holland, France, and Brasil. The classic teams have all the great like Pele, Maradona, Cryuff, Cantona, Platini, etc... You can use these players if you like in the Master League. The Master League composed of 40 top club in the world. Although, I don't know why Fiorentina, West Ham and Aston Villa are in there. Some people like the Master League other don't because it is a fantasy league (not like the Champions League). I personally like the ML. You start in the ML with a bunch of no names players and eventually earning points by winning games in the third division. The more points you earned, the better chance you have of buying or getting players on loan. You buy any players in the games you want depending on the price of course. But don't even think of getting a World Class player like Roberto Carlos on your division 3 team. He prefers to play on either D2 if you pay him a lot or D1. If you win D3, you get promoted to D2 and so on...
Things that you can do in Winning Eleven.
    1-2 pass. (ground and aerial)
    Deke moves..
Crosses- low(ground), middle (medium off ground) and high cross.
The variations of goals scored are amazing. Headers (submarine too for Jack Edwards), Volleys, Half-Volleys, Bicycle Kick (rare), and of course crackers.
The small details are there. Defenders will tuck on your shirts if they see you passing them by. Players raise their hands up for offsides (well at least in the latest version WE6FE).
The stadiums are authentic with exception to the names and some sponsors.
There are tons of sites where you can more info.

Someone on another forum pointed that some screenshots were taken for WE6 International. Can you translate this page if you read Korean? It concerns about WE7.

    Hi Jordan,

Yes, it says that WE7's release date is somewhere around July or August this year. It is going to be released in both Korea and Japan at the same day. It's the only thing they mentioned about WE7.

Btw, if any of you is wondering what WE looks like. I have found a clip of WE6 FE - The newest version of Winning Eleven series. It's a collection of goal ceremonies that were made after the WC.

Thanks mate. I have WE6FE. It is great. The goal celebrations are amazing. I like when Diouf does his dance when he scored. Also the somersaults by Robbie Keane and Aghahowa.
