The other WE6 threads always end up as a fight over Fifa and WE, so I want to have one comparing WTS and WE6. I finally was able to grab a copy of WE6 yesterday, and after playing 5 or 6 games, I'm a little dissappointed. From all the hype people have made about this game, I was expecting to be knocked over, and I wasn't. The game is good, game play is solid, but it isn't the most responsive game, and the tackling is hard. I know the learing curve is supposdly steep, and I kept getting the buttons mixed up because they are very different from WTS. Here so quick thoughts on both games. Graphics: I thought WE6 graphics were pretty poor for a PS2 game. WTS game graphics are better, the players look more realistic, and the cut scenes are excellent. This is the one game where I acctually watch them. Both stadiums look good. Sound: Not that important part of the game, but WE6 can get repetitive faster than WTS. Crowd sounds are both good, WTS has team specific chants, I haven't heard any on WE6. Teams: No contest, WTS has over 700 club teams (not with real names, but they are closer than WE6)and many internationals. Clubs are updated as of this mid season. MLS teams are included, althoug some of their ratings are a little off. WE6 has only 40 teams (with stupid names). Gameplay: WTS - I think it's pretty good. You can't beat all the defenders with spin moves, so you have to pass the ball. Players get carded more often than most video games, but I like that aspect. Defensive headers are very hard, and scoring on set pieces is probably easier than is should be. The players on offensive could make better runs and join the play more often, but you can score goals from the MF. WE6 (warning, i've only played 5 games) - I thought the game played very similare to MLS Extratime, only a bit slower. You could do more crosses, but I found the 1-2 function to be very difficult. I like the fact that not every pass goes where is was supposed to go, and defenders do a better than normal job at cutting off passes to opposing forwards. I don't like the shooting of tacking method (that could improve with practice) Game Options: WTS has more options with its career, club season, and cup competitions. THe transfer markets works pretty well, you can't sell players unless you get bids. The Master League looks very cool on WE6 (but the menus are wierd). I am looking forward to haveing to manage my clubs finances closley. Summary: As of now, I enjoy playing WTS more than WE6. I worried that I would never put WTS in the machine one I got WE6, but I don't think that will be the case. I plan on keeping an playing both, but can't say as of now that one is tremendously better than the other.
They both suck. Especially WTS. WE6I is bareable, but is just too slow and no excitement. But this is the battle between the 3rd best soccer games on the market. (FIFA - 1, Red Card - 2, WE6I/WTS - 3)
Re: Re: WE6 vs World Tour Soccer (NO FIFA) He's trolling. That's the only logical answer. I can't compare WE6 to WTS 2003, but it's better than WTS 2002. WTS 2002 became very scripted as I got better at it. How much of an improvement over 2002 is WTS 2003?
Some added thoughts after a weekends worth of games. WE6 does get better as you play. The way the players interact with the ball is way better than other games, when they receive passes, the control the ball with their feet, instead of it just stopping automatically, and not all players do it as well. I picked up Landon and Razov for my master league team and I started winning games (I also moved the difficulty to easy). WE is a very good game, but I still wouldn't say its way better than overall (the graphics and presenation just aren't that good), but it definatly has some aspects that are kick ass.
