It's official! Our new rightback is here to compete with Trent Alexander Arnold. I rate Denzel Dumfries very highly. €20 million for him is a steal! Master stroke by Don Florentino. Denzel is the latest Dutch player to play for Real Madrid since Rafael van der Vaart in 2010. Denzel has been very successful with Inter Milan in Italy. I've been following his career since his PSV days, and he is a solid RB acquisition, although he mostly excelled as a RWB.
He just turned 30 so let's hope he has a couple more years in the tank. I didn't rate him at all before a couple years ago but now I'm happy he's at Madrid. Who knew players can grow, adapt and get better?
Still can’t believe there’s a dude in this world named Denzel Dumfries and he’s NOT American I like the player, solid signing IMO. I don’t really trust Flo at this point so idk how to feel about signings of 30+ aged players that I admittedly am a fan of.
Shit thread title Excited for this one. This marks the sixth defensive signing in 2 years for us. This is, I think, unprecedented. Last year's signings have been underwhelming, so fingers crossed we see a much better outcome with Konate, Cucurella and Dumfries. On paper it seems like we should. Now, let's offload some more deadweight and see about signing a midfielder. I am almost certain Michael Olise is a summer of 2027 project, so a right winger will have to wait.
I explained before at length but to summaroze he is most effective in a formation that we never play in. For a classic fullback, we could have done better, especially given his age.
Hope he has some good years for the club. A fighter and has good crossing abilities/instincts. Wish him well.

Best wishes to Denzel of course but i am really looking forward to what Trent can bring to the table with a more functional team with fewer holes. Second season, he's had time to get used to the new country. Had a nice break in the summer. I expect him to ball out the first half of the season. Intrigued to see how we rotate between Denzel and Trent.
I think so too, certainly in the big matches in the CL and La Liga. I'm less optimistic about Trent's role in the first XI next season.
