AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani told reporters on Wednesday that the Rossoneri never had the intention of signing AS Roma star Francesco Totti.

"Milan never looked to sign Totti, nor did we ask Roma if there was this possibility. We also never spoke directly with the player," Galliani said during the presentation of the Montecitorio Milan Club.

"Furthermore Totti is a player who is under contract with Roma, and we are covered in all roles," added Galliani.

Galliani's remarks greatly contradict the many reports that surfaced throughout the Italian media in the past weeks.

These indicated Milan were ready to offload Rui Costa, Rivaldo, and a large sum of cash in exchange for the Giallorosso skipper.

Bull****, if Totti was available Galliani would do anything to get him. And I don't blame him.

You rate him higher than Rui Costa or Figo (now that he's available)?

IF ROMA do bad in serie A again i expect to see totti in milan for the 2004/2005 season.

rui is very overrated-has one good game the next 5 are dull

same with figo his best days are behind him........

we should get rid of pippo by then and our attack would be sheva and totti with tomasson as the joker from the bench,..........

Figo is now almost 32 or 33 years old (can't recall which). He is still a very good player, but his best days are now past. Rui Costa is a heck of a player but he will not score goals at the clip Totti scores them. Totti is NOT the best in the world, but he is way up there. All you have to do is watch Italy's recent game in UEFA qualifying to see it. I suspect Totti is not going to come available which as a Roma fan sort of stinks. Because their time to rebuild has arrived and this is their best asset to sell.

Rui Costa is not overrated by any stretch. He is a great player with only a few players in the world that can match his creativity in the midfield. Zidane is the only attacking midfielder that can match him, imo. But Totti can do some things Rui can't do like score goals. Rui is a horrible finisher. Plus I think Totti is a better free kick taker than Rui. But the biggest reason I would want Totti is because he is younger and still has many more years to give. Rui will probably play one last year with Milan before he goes back to Benfica. Then hopefully Totti will come.

Next year Milan will probably stay the same with Rui supplying Sheva and Pippo. But in the 2004/05 season this will be my dream attacking trio:

    Sheva------Mutu
    ------Totti------

Hopefully Roma gets relegated and Parma don't sell Mutu this year for my dream to happen ;)
