We Need a Nickname!

IIRC, in either language the nickname is already taken

 

A nickname isn't exclusive to one team. How many Lions, Eagles, Giants and Cardinals are out there?

 

Los Yanquis is too milquetoast. We need a name that captures the Love we want our team to inspire amongst the Eurosnobs and our South of the Border compadres......so, how about "DamnYanquis!"

 

They are the Nats. Might not like it, but that's the nick.

 

They should have wrapped Gooch up in bubble wrap and extricated him just before the first game in South Africa. Idiot...

Are you aware that "EL EQUIPO DE TODOS" was a disdain nickname give to USA team when our team was made of foreign players ...?

 

That's our name for Americans, they can't use that.

 

The "Yanks" and the "Nats" are our 2 nicknames...I don' think they're gonna change..

The yanks is a good one because it doesn't come from an animal or the color of our kits. And despite everything we know about the word "yankee" in this country...in the rest of the world the word "yankee" has meant "American" since the early 1800's.

I don't even use our nicknames anyway,I just call the team the USA.

 

I have no clue how I read 7 pages of this thread, but I couldnt stop laughing. You people find a way to argue with everything and everyone about anything. Actually kind of comical to read thread to thread the bitching that goes on!
