Watching all the MLS games last nite, it was great to see:

Chung scores series winner for Rapids
Hernandez creates second goal for Revs,
    (also scored in game 1)

We have a crack front office.

I could list the other ex Metros contributing to playoff teams (like Ezra, for example, another great Metro move) but I won't.

Its not hard to see why the Metros aren't in the playoffs.

Chung was also credited with an assist on Colorado's first goal.
Brian Kamler also scored for the revolution.

...and about 90% of the posts here when we traded Hernandez were pro-"dump him"

And the same goes for when we lost Chung. (Not me. I miss Chungy)

we traded a different hernandez....the hernandez in the revs uniform is the same one that played for us last year. for whatever reason (Oz), he wasn't playing like that for us this year.

dumping chung was a mistake...he's always been our most consistent player.

Chung never crossed the midfield stripe last year. He'd stop and look back. In 2000, Chung and apparently every other Metro played hard...

I suppose everyone forgot that too.

Let's remember that we traded the "2002" Daniel Hernandez and NOT the "2000" (and the first half of 2001) Daniel Hernandez. There's a big difference here.

In 2000, none of us thought he'd ever be dealt and we talked how he had National Team potential. Danny Boy started to become a cancer. He dug his own grave.

ok, so we traded some poor 2001-2002 performers, and on their latest teams, they reminded us of why we liked them in the first place. They had skillz and/or heart.

Why did they get traded? Why didn't they show their heart and skillz on the field for us recently?

Surely its not the manager's job to get the best out of their players is it?

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. I hope it is. If the manager is not expected to get the best out of there players who is? The Groundskeeper? Security Guard 2146? Sweeper? Why have a manager then. Don't tell me tatics, because OZ has none. The only manager that he ever outcoached is that pool cleaner guy that use to be manager down in Miami.

In hindsight, Daniel Hernandez just may have been one of the first victims of OZ's loss of control of the team. With a different manager, we might have seen a much better attitude. I'll admit I wasn't unhappy to see him gone at the time, but since OZ has decided he can't work with anyone on the team right now, I'm thinking I was dead wrong then.

Im surprised you guys are giving Oz all the blame for trades we have done in order to get new or different players. You do realize that its Nick, not Oz, who does the trading. Im sure Oz has his say, but its the GM that does all the backroom dealings.

its unclear to me at least the interaction between the GM and coach regarding player moves.

Some GM's wheel and deal with no coach input. Other GM's are just the execution arm of the coach's wishes.

It seems to me that NS/OZ kinda work as a team for personnel trades etc. At least we haven't seen them knifing each other in the back over personnel moves.

PS - Yes, I was sarcastic about the manager's responsibility comment. I had hope it was transparent enough to anyone besides OZ, who either feels it isn't his responsibility to motivate players, or who just couldn't get it done this year.

If a drunk man barfs on a bus, and spills it all over the floor, is OZ responsable???

I'm still glad we got rid of Danny Boy. I wouldn't want him back with his attitude even if he actually became the player he THINKS he is.
