RailHawks aren't saying who it is yet, but they've called a press conference for Thursday, November 13th at 1pm.

Fans are invited to attend per the email they just sent out to their "insiders" club:

Congrats to him, he does well and get's an offer to move up to a bigger team in a bigger league. Good for him and good luck. I'm sure Cleveland will bring in another good coach. They seem to have very good contacts both domestically and internationaly.

I'm a little late on this... looks like a decent move for us to get an up and coming successful coach in USL on paper

no idea what kind of style they play though, anybody know anything about Cleveland?

And won the league title in the club's second year.

Rennie only lost 7 games out of 49 while at the helm in Cleveland for the first two year's of the club's existence. That's pretty damn impressive.

I'm extremely pumped about this coach. Scotty started us off decent, and could have done better, but now that we've got a team together, and some excellent players, hopefully Coach Rennie can make something happen.

If not I'll just watch Montpellier and Colchester United in Ligue 2 and League 1 respectively.

Scottie and Damon were like all other American coaches. Regimented effort leading up to a single goal if you are lucky and then putting 8-9 guys behind the ball to defend. I think in general we need our young players to learn creativity not do drills all day. Heck, they got 8 year olds running drills all day in Morrisville at the old Sportsplex. Trust me, I have seen them do this on several occasions. This produces mindless mediocrity that the Railhawks were known for over the last two seasons. I am hoping that this will change and we can play creative football.

railhawksfan. Did you watch any game completely? There were only a few guys on the Railhawks who had the creativity to make up decisions on the go. So they had to work on the fundamentals, because they gave the ball away in situations because their technical skills let them down. I wouldn't bash what Scott (or Scottie as you know him) & Damon do in Morrisville, because it is one of the best ideas in soccer. Kids don't go there for team strategies, they go there for the technical aspect of the game. If you can't dribble, trap, or pass the ball, then you will never be able to be creative at all. Also, these kids do Scott & Damon's program in addition to their teams, so they get an extra training each week.

If you don't know the facts, please don't talk badly about them and their programs.

Every coach has to preach good technique, otherwise their team will suck. So how could you leave that aspect out of training sessions. Doesn't make sense to me.

You do not learn creativity by doing mindless drills. You learn that by playing competitive games 24-7. Ask yourself why guys like Fusilier and Munoz were the most creative players on the roster last year? You learn soccer by playing as a youth and that is how the best players in the world are/were made. You know the Zidanes, Ronaldos and Maradonas.

Some coaching is fine and learning fundamentals like how to shoot and trap are ok too. Making 8 year olds run drills for 45 min is not ok. You cannot tech creativity. That is the problem with American soccer. Unfortunaely, Scott and Damon are cut from the same cloth. Nothing personal, but the Railhawks were a reflection of their coaches over the last two seasons.
