to know that the complaining clubs don't have a legal leg to stand on! It's simple really; all the clubs belong to a private organisation...the Premier League...which has a set of internal rules with which ALL clubs have agreed to abide by. These aren't laws set by the Government, and they can't be judged in a civil court or legal action. The league decided on a certain punishment for a technical violation of their rules, which was the largest monetary fine in the history of football, I believe.This is not much different than appealing against a red card or other violation; the League can reject appeals, and invariably does. It doesn't have to satisfy anyone who doesn't like the decision. This is a storm in a teacup, in my opinion, and in a few days will be history. I can't wait for next season! UP THE HAMMERS!

Not this one mate. All of the clubs approved the 'independant' commission that was set up to judge this case. It was not the PL, but this commission that imposed the fine. Having agreed to the commission, they cannot go to court and say.... Oh, but we thought they'd be tougher on West Ham and we never thought that we'd be in relegation trouble, so could you please change things so that another team goes down
