horrible defensive play again. Horrible starting line-up. We had the momentum after the goal and didn't take advantage of it, we played back into the passive set. Could have won in the 90. We don't deserve it.

We had a lot of chances. Findley in the first half. Feilhaber and Bradley in the 2nd half. Then Altidore in the 2nd half.

This team is depressing. You cannot just play half a game every match. Well dried out.

No one on this team is a wuss. This is a great team, but our central defense was our undoing. I love this team.

and until we have at least one striker that can do what gyan did we will be also rans. still i will cheer and hope but you cannot win at the highest level with jozy as your "great" striking hope and starting utter shite like findley, clark and borenstein.

until the 23 man squad has quaility top to bottom with no players who are obvious liabilities we will have to be happy with grit and over performing. getting out of the group stages is at least respectable.

oh. and to diving, cheating, rolling on the ground for no reason, thug Ghana ... i hope your bus crashes and you all die in a fire. or at least you get put in the ground by uruguay.

Findley is a fullback. Clark and Findley hopefully never play for us again.

Bornstein was fantastic for both of these matches.

I think Ghana overall deserved the win, but the fact it took extra time was a fair refelction of the game.

The USA suffered because whilst their defence is pretty disciplined it's not manned by great defenders and their forwards don't present a massive goal threat.

Don't we have one striker that can do that in Charlie Davies?

We had zero friendlies against African teams this year, I blame Sunsil worrying more mexico getting friendlies than USNT!

Hopefully, Bradley & Donovan will to bigger things.

Jozy sucks. I don't remember every minute of every game but he seems to only show up when the games really don't mean anything. He has a ton of time to improve but I don't think he justified his spot on the team beyond there wasn't anyone else who was better.

often teams who don't deserve to win, win.

so to say what you are saying probably indicates that you sir are a fool.

no. borensuck didn't majorly f**k up like he usually does. he was mediocre at best and that is the best you can get from him. i will give him credit, he didn't pull a "borenstien" out there but that is hardly "fantastic".

I agree about Ghana. What classless a$$ fcuk's. They showed that they can't win a real fcukin game. They have to resort to diving, rolling on the ground, time wasting and cheating to win. I really hope that when they go back to Ghana and they all get malaria and die. Nothing would make me happier. Teams that do all this stuff do not deserve to win. They should play the game the real way. The referee should of taken better control of the game though. Jozy was taken down in the box and the referee allowed all this cheating, diving, time wasting. Uruguay will put them back in their place.

I did not think we deserved to win this game. Our Central Defense is complete shit. Demerit never does anything good for this team. He makes to many mistakes to be a contributor on a team that goes past the round of 16. We need better quality defenders to go farther then the Round of 16. The future of our strikers looks bright and same with our Midfield but our defense needs to vastly improve for the US to ever do anything in the World Cup. The thing that did us in, in the world cup was the defense.

no. charlie davies cannot even play right now. and even at his best he was a small quick but still fairly weak player. there is no way he could stand up to a challenge like that and have that sort of strength and body control, then control on the ball and then finishing ability.

there is not a single american born striker that could have pulled that off currently playing. maybe ... maybe mcbride in his hey day. and that is precisely the problem. lack of talent. we cannot even field 11 good players so it is hard to be anything other than mediocre when that is the case.

A bunch of my friends asked me why the US played better when they were down.

I seriously didn't have an answer for them.

It sucks for you guys but Findley had a great chance and he blew it.

He was our best defender today, and shut down his side of the field. He was absolutely fantastic today and had an excellent tournament. He proved that he deserved his place in this squad.

you can just as easily say they didn't deserve it because what we did in the 1st half they copied in the 2nd half

    This.

You have to make the most of your chances. The US generated more but did little with them, whereas Gyan did more with less.

Ghana definitely did not outright deserve to win. We had much better chances then them, but blew them all. Gyan's goal was just pure luck.
