There was some noise from AW about giving Henry a rest. Anyone think Jeffers will get a start against Boro? Not likely, but if we could win this one without Henry it would be nice to rest him for Liverpool and Chelsea.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Jeffers could really be a quality Premier League striker...IF he can remain healthy enough to play more than 3 games in a row! He has never had the chance (at least at Arsenal) to get his game form together. It has been play a couple games as a late game sub and then maybe get a start or just as he is slated to start - get injured and is out for 6 weeks. Nothing breaks up the rhythm like an injury (just ask Upson).

I'm a Frannie Jeffers fan, but this guy is the biggest tease in the world. He falls out of bed and scores goals for the reserves and youth international teams, but can't stand on his own feet for two straight first team games. I'm ready for him to give some other fans blue balls.

I have been looking for Jeffers to make his mark in the first team for ages now, he obviously knows where the goal is with his exploits for the reserves, the under-21s and Everton. Agreed, he's been unlucky with injury, as has Upson, but now they're both back I'd like to see them in the first team squad more, at least making the bench. When I have seen Jeffers in person he always looks to make the sort of dangerous runs that will get him into scoring positions. As we all know, a lot of the thing about being a striker is confidence, if he gets one or two I think he could get a quite a few. He's the only striker we have who is what I would call "a natural finisher". Once we see how Dennis' FA hearing goes, he may be in line for some first team action over the festive period. And we may also see Thierry in the support striker role which I personally think he is more suited to.

Boro has the "best defensive tandem" in the League so I would expect Henry to play. Who does he pair with, Bergkamp Id think.
