So far in this match we can't put two passes together. We can't get forward other than to hoof the ball forward to Cunningham or West who eventually *************** it up.

    Is Mais even playing?

We are being held in our own half. We are supposed to be at home!

I'm disgusted. What happned to the team we saw at the begining of the season?

Did I miss something? Did we play midweek in another part of the world? - Because it looks like we have a bunch of jet-lagged fatigued players out there.

This is the worst I have seen the Crew all year.

I switched over to the Metro game a couple times and they look so much more dangerous. They are connecting on passes and organized in the backfield.

Bush needs to grow a couple more inches. I know he's a soldier and all, but please. Last week's coming up "short" and today's goal, make me question his physical size in the net. Maybe I'm just bitter (maybe it's the Johnnie Walker).

Damn! I need some BBQ Fritos.

Yeah, that was real great guys.

Does anyone have stats for the W-D-L when the Crew are on TV?

I swear I have only seen them win a handful of games since I moved away.

I'm so pissed off with the Crew right now, words can't even begin to describe the turmoil inside of me right now. This is so rediculous. Greg waits until the 89th minute to make his first sub?!?! Was he interested in winning this game?

According to the box score, Buddle was available off the bench. The only thing I can hope for is that he gets in there next week and finds his form immediately.

It amazes me once again that without Mais in the lineup, we give up a ton of goals. Its pathetic. What has happened to the Crew? They're playing w/ no heart or something. Did Cunny's words in that interview affect the team that much?

I don't even know why I kill myself every week following this pack of fools. There is so much talent being wasted in Columbus its a sick joke. For Christ's sake, get a new coach, get a good left back, and put some lifts on Busch. Why is it that Greg is so innept?

    AAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhh!

I thought Columbus played pretty well but unlucky not to score.

The problem is defense. They gave up 4 goals last week to SJ and 3 this week to NE.

Usually 2 goals is enough to win a game.

    OK, here goes...

    1. Why the hell was West on the field? Is Garcia injured or something? There is absolutely no excuse for putting West out there in a starting role. He is absolutely worthless.

    2. Cunningham created some chances but could he be any more lazy? Offsides 3 times in a matter of minutes. He also needs to get rid of the ball earlier (nothing new here). When he did decide to pass it was always a second too late. He has some good ideas but teh timing was just off.

    3. Martino needs to work on his shooting. He is great in tight spaces but when he gets in the open he struggles.

    4. Like it or not this team is going nowhere unless there is a change at the top. Andrulis has no clue what he is doing. To put West on the left side when he is right footed and can't even use that is beyond comprehension. Not utilizing substitutions properly and going defensive when we get the lead are killing us (NOTE: not tonight, but overall during his reign). I have no idea who is out there but there has to be someone who can give the team better guidance.

    My Lineup:

    .......McBride......Buddle (when fit)

    Garcia....Martino....Mais....Paule

    Denton...Torres...Dunseth...Hejduk

    ..................Busch

Yeah i know Clark is captain and all but watch how he plays. Everytime the ball his played in the air his way he gets behind his mark and pushes off giving all kinds of dangerous free kicks. Torres is more comfortable in thw center and I would like to see him given the chance there.

This team has some talent and will win some games on that alone. We won't have any trouble making the playoffs but don't look for us to go that far unless there is a shakeup.

I've stayed quiet but now I am convinced. Cunningham is ************. He was offsides 100 times. I don't think he even got off but 3 shots on goal.

    Trade the sack of shlt.

Erm, perhaps you guys shouldn't be so hard on your club. You are acting like Columbus lost, which is only technically true. It would be more acurate to say they got beaten. At home.

We certainly deserved 3 points. The only guy I feel sorry for is Andrulis, as he's a NE native and all. Well, and Martino, because he must get grief about that hairdo.

We can't convert. New England can. Game over.

Looks like we've reached Panic Mode already and anyone who doesn't agree is an idiot. What the hell has happened to this team? It's obvious as much as we dogged on Mais, he is the most valuable player on the team. He needs to get back next week or we are going to get dominated. So this is the 2nd goal so far this season we've given up in the 89th min, wonderful.

    Tonight was absolutely crap.

    West has no shot whatsover.

Cunningham's is weak at best. No wonder he gets so open, in part because the defenders don't fear his finishing moves.

The first goal was classic, the second was somewhat lucky. But based on all the chances the Crew had, the club should have stuck at least 5 in the net.

And New England... basically had three chances at goal, and converted....Thanks mostly to Denton.

BTW Eggy, a lot of people commented on my Wolves jersey (the old gold Goodyear made by Puma). All thought Wolves would go up except for the clown who sold me my ticket said the Blades would win; I told him to stick it.

It's time for some sad truth.

This team is overrated. They are far more interested in being men about town and scoring free drinks at the local pub than being committed to winning.

Cunny. Had his moments, beat four defenders in fact on one play, just couldn't finish.

Denton/West. How are these two not in the A league, West especially.

Busch. Hesitant, stands flat footed. Three weeks maybe sooner before Presthus is back in.

Martino. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, has a hard time putting things on frame.

The only encouraging things I saw tonight: Hejduk and Paule, these two have been very consistent, good efforts every game.

I'm disappointed by the match, but I got to say it was a good match. Both teams showed skill on the ball at times and other times none at all, but that's soccer. The problem as I see it was until Columbus was scored on both times, they let NE dictate the pace of the game. Pat Noonan showed a lot in this game as well. Poor marking and clearing by the Crew defense for all the NE goals. Too bad MLS Wrap doesn't show the build up to the goals because it would show that the Crew had great chances to clear the ball, but didn't do it effectively. Poor clearence has cost too many goals this year and thats on all the defense. As for Columbus' goals I share Crewtoon's assesment of the first goal, but I hope you take a look at the second goal again on MLS Wrap. Too me that goal is good skill on Cunningham's part. He knew he had no shot, so he headed it down hoping someone would make the run to the back post. Dunseth made that run and it was a goal.

Denton and West both played bad games. Maybe it's time to give Torres a try at LB. At least we know that he knows how to clear a ball. As for West, I guess he just doesn't have it. Very few flashes of good play at the end, but overall poor performance. However, if MLS Wrap shows the closeup of Brown's save on the West shot, I think you'll see it was unlucky it didn't go in. West took the shot, it was in the air for a bit then hit the ground and took an inch bounce toward Brown. If the bounce goes an inch the other way, it's a goal. As for the decision to put West in instead of Garcia, I think Garcia hasn't been playing up to form and Andrulis decided to roll the dice with West. It didn't work, but he also has to know that he has subs he can put in and maybe Garcia could have added a little something to the offense and defense on the left side. Another poor use of subs by Andrulis.

As for the Cunningham comments. I guess you see what you want to see. Personally I saw a player who was involved in 95% of the Crew's attack this game and gave the defense fits all day. He showed some good individual skill and had some pretty nice passes to set up Dunseth, Martino, and West. I also thought he did a good job of holding the ball for a change this game and waiting for the attack to form. That run to the sideline was good, but why not pass to the open McBride or Paule in the center. As for the offsides, It wasn't like it was because he was lazy. They came because he jumped the gun on McBride's flick ons. In the same span that Jeff had those offside calls, McBride and Paule we're also called for offside positions. That tells me that the NE defense played very disciplined and caused those Offside calls. I can at least see with runs like that and the offsides how people can be so criticle of Cunningham's play. But to me that's just a Forward and Cunny is a pure Forward.

Cunny had about 5 offsides in a row.

More like three in a row, between a McBride offside and Paule offside that you maybe could have put on Jeff because Paule was clearly offside, but Jeff played the ball to him anyway.

andrulis sucks. we are the most talented team in the league, there is no reason that we should get beat by the talentless revs at home.

I just saw the highlights and everyone of the Revs goals should have been cleared out of the zone. We at least had good build up and passing on our goals.

I can't believe three of our defenders are just standing there watching the ball as Twellmen goes in on Busch alone in the 89th minute. There is no excuse for that and it's stuff you should only see in a youth league game. Another embarrassing performance by the defense and it's yet another unmarked guy in the 89th minute who takes points away from the Crew.

You are being damn tough on your team (with some good reason.) It was a night of poor defense and lack of conversion on plenty of chances. You may blame Busch all you want, but it's not his fault that your defense has stunk the last few weeks. Was it not but four weeks ago that you sung the praises of your keeper?

I agree that Andrulis was pretty inept as coach tonight. His lack of movement off the bench (not literally, but that wouldn't surprise me) showed a hesitancy that you don't want to see from your head coach. You were simply outplayed tonight, albeit in a very entertaining match.

I'm curious though, is there any explanation for the ridiculously low turnout? Oh, and those air horns need to go.
