In the US, you can either purchase an "authentic" jersey, which is exactly what the players wear, with all the patches and stars, etc. or you can purchase a replica, which is a watered-down copy (and less money.) Now that we know that the Blackpool replica is what the players wear (correct?), we will order online. I was thinking we might have to get them in the club store at the stadium. ...and of course, we want the PL patch - it only took 40 years to get it on there again!!!
Ah ha! Nope the replica shirts are exact copies of what the players wear. Same quality, the exact same shirts the players wear!
Yup...in America we have 3 levels: Replica: LOOKS the same. Authentic: IS the same. Game (match) worn: off the players back. My Arsenal shirt is a replica.
Talking of this, the club shop is to be shut for a few days whilst it has a total refit by JD Sports, the company who throught their Carbrini brand manufacture the team strip. No idea if it will impact on internet sales or not I would imagine not. Funny really as at the Blackburn home match there was a long queue outside the shop to get in, with them only allowing so many in at once. As we walked past the queue two fans were talking, and one of them said, "Two years ago they had to drag people into the shop, now we have to queue up just to get in!" Which is true, though not dragging people in off the street..... But it is something else that shows the power of promotion to the PL.
The home game against ManUre is to be shown live on ESPN, our first appearance on ESPN. Saturday 4th December, kirck-off 5:30pm (ESPN)
My apologies yes. In the UK Sky Sports and ESPN share live coverage with Sky getting the prime time spots and ESPN getting the others that used to be covered by Setanta Sports who went bankrupt in the UK. If I recall correctly there are six "packages" which the tv companies have to bid for and they then have those spots for so many years. Saturday lunch time, early evening, then Sunday early afternoon and late afternoon, plus Monday evening. No idea what the sixth slot is if indeed there even is one! Maybe it is other nights, but anyway, ESPN has I think two of the slots. But I am sure that it will be covered in North America as this is ManUre we are talking about! TV stations here are that obsessed by them that all but one of their games in December is being shown live, four on Sky Sports and us on ESPN. So I am sure that other countries will get the game live.
Okay, weird question, I am trying to order the home kit from online store. I get to the delivery options and it seems right side of page is cut off as it has UK shipping cost option, I barely seeing European shipping option, and obviously with either option selected, it says not the right one for my region. I don't see one for either US or rest of world type option. Odd.
That is weird as there have been orders literally from all over the world and as confirmed by the club, almost daily orders from the USA, so it should work!! Maybe try emailing them? website contact page: http://shop.blackpoolfc.co.uk/Contact.aspx
it ended up working after I put my college education to work. I just had to use the right arrow rather than the tab button to move over 2 spots to the rest of the world option. Kit, knit hat, and scarf on it's way to arizona.
I should really open a new thread for things like this but will put it in here for now. There is a freeview video on the official website of the Altogether Now programme in partnership with Blackpool Council and NHS Blackpool. It is one of the first to be recognised as part of the London 2012 Inspire Programme. The free video can be found on this page - http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10432~2178673,00.html And the official 'Altogether Now - a legacy for Blackpool' website is here - http://www.blackpool.nhs.uk/altogethernow/
Another freeview video from the official website: http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10432~2178032,00.html This one is a "blindfold penalty shoot-out" as part of the countdown to the London 2012 Paralympics.
OK...the beanie and the scarf would cost me 14 GBP and 15 GBP to ship! I'm going to ask my friend to pick them up for me when he's there next month.
