Not on a replay. But at game speed, the Chivas player sold it pretty well.

watched the replay... seriously, that wasn't lowering your head... this was adjusting his eye level... showing that Chivas b*stard that Wolff means business... could be the worst hard red i have seen... and Hirsig joke of a collection of yellows should put that ref on probation...

In the end it doesn't matter Josh wolff is a veteran player and should know not to be so damn stupid. Once again it shows no matter how far the quality of play comes along the referee's still continue to be let behind.

Just caught this on Steve Davis' 10 things you need to know about this past week in the MLS article http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=649817&sec=mls&root=mls&cc=5901

I cant really say that I disagree with the Wolff red card. FIFA has told all officials that anything resembling a head butt should be given a straight red. It may not of been Josh's intent to headbutt but in the heat of the game, it probably looked like it.

Hirsig's red was just horrible. That was questionable as a foul much less a card and even a second card.

If the referees would punish the cynical fouls, players would be far less likely to take matters into their own hands. This happens in youth games all the way to the professional level.

I agree, the game never should of gotten to that point. The ref lost control of the game.
