According to AO, not sure if they are just trying to sell more travel packages: According to Washington Post: *No official word yet, but it’s looking increasingly likely the U.S. World Cup qualifier Sept. 7 at Jamaica will be another pay-per-view production from the same rights holders, Traffic, as the Guatemala away match in June. Reminder: Host federations control TV rights and sell them as they see fit.
http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/st...world-cup-qualifier-vs-guatemala-pay-per-view Yeah a company called Traffic Sports USA bought the rights to all 3 road matches in this group and it's very likely that they'll sell the rights PPV for the Jamaica and Antigua road matches. Oh well there's always the internet. It's a shame CONCACAF doesn't go the way of UEFA and pool all their rights toghether.
Given how away qualifiers typically go (crappy fields, hostile crowds, questionable calls), perhaps it's best these games are left for the hardcore supporters.
Not many bars show it because they have to pay more than individual households. For Guat it was $1,000. (Too much for most bars). The vid from Guatv.USA was awful quality. I would not order again. I could not see what was happening on the field. It was very, very dark.
On the up side of living here... It takes 5 minutes to get anywhere in town, I can let my kids ride their bikes around town with little worry, the cost of living is about half of what it is in SoCal, and there is daily coverage of rodeo in the local sports page.
Of course it's frustrating. I will be at the bar, as will both of my roommates, but those more casual fans won't get to see the games at all. Grrr
I'll just watch on my computer. It's not like I'll be missing anything quality wise. Anyway, is anyone else Terrified that Mattocks will give our CB's hell? He'll eat a guy like Boca alive if he gets him turned.
No he won't. He couldn't handle the rookie Austin Berry and an aging and recently injured Arne Friedrich when they played the Fire. His athleticism is amazing, but Bocanegra has been better players who have been just as athletic. So has Gooch. So have Cameron, Ream, and probably Seb Hines if he gets called. And Gonzo as well, although he probably won't be called in.
Ah oh well, I'll be at the DC bar I guess lol. OT - Does anyone know how tixs are selling in KC and Columbus?
If people keep buying these PPVs they won't stop, everybody needs to start using the internet to watch the game.
