I can't believe South Africa, Nigeria, Tunisia, and Senegal all lost in the same weekend!! Wow...

The home teams are really dominating. Shows that even the top nations are struggling to what one would think would be easy opposition. So far there have been only 2 home loses which both ironically involve Egypt (Egypt 3-0 in Sudan and Ivory Coast 2-1 in Egypt).

After two rounds, only one team (Ivory Coast) has the full six points. That's pretty amazing (although I am discounting Group 5 as Kenya is suspended.

That's a good point. The home advantage is enormous in Africa, probably more so than any other region of the world (though Central America might be comparable).

Guinea's pretty much a slightly above mid-level team but I don't recall them losing a WC or CAN qualifier at home since I started following them ('95). I think the last time was a '93 WCQ vs Cameroon.

They just do terribly on the road...
