Dzagoev is a huge prospect. I wanna see him as a sub, and blowing Loew away.

Do you think he's gonna show the finger to the crowd again? :p

Btw: Russia has never lost a WC qualifier home game, whereas Germany is still unbeaten on away ground. Well, then I predict a draw. :))

Our run against them is impressive (13/2/3)...

    http://www.fussballdaten.de/vereine/deutschland/russland

... however, there's no doubt that we're facing an incredibly tough away game on artificial turf against a very strong team (just look at the quality of their attack) coached by a great manager in front of a fanatic crowd! If we want to avoid a defeat, we'll certainly need a top performance in Moscow.

Our players aren't in the best form right now apart from Bystrov. I can't see our defense holding Germany scoreless but I do believe that we'll dominate midfield.

Yea but we can't finish. :(

Bystrov/Lahm will be the key match-up.

    For this match

    Defense:

Should Arne Friedrich start? This is going to be a difficult season for him as Hertha Berlin is struggling so bad atm. But his experience can be useful to the team.
For this game, if Loew really is aiming for one point. Then i'll say start an experienced player in Arne at RB ahead of Beck. With Beck starting, u'll have an attacking fullback who has much higher work-rate but average defensive game. It all depends on what Loew is aiming for.

And I think it is likely that Jerome Boateng will be called. won't start, but i think its a good sign as he is still one of the better CBs available. Now, Loew will stick with Mertesacker n Westermann

    Midfield:

Doubt we'll be dominated. Rolfes is in GREAT form and has developed intoa top DM/CM in the league. Ballack is also doing well for Chelsea; Schweini also has found his best position at CM and i think these three players can provide us with a solid 3-men midfield. Hitzlsperger can also provide some solid minutes off the bench or even start ahead of Rolfes/Schweini.

With both Rolfes n Hitz/Schweini at DM/CM, Ballack can move forward more often. He is still a good finisher with great positioning n aerial ability

Oezil and Podolski can be the two AMs behind the targetman. Trochowski can play there as well. Doesn't make a huge difference to me. The 3 players cam rotate at the AMs/winger spots

    Striker:

Wonder who'll that be. Klose or Gomez? Both players are not sharp enough and maybe both are just in holiday mood.

I actually prefer Klose for this crucial match. At least he isn't cursed when it comes to NT games

Gomez has scored 6 times in 10 games for Bayern, isn't that bad I think.. But I agree with you, it's better with a Friedrich on the right side against Arshavin and co.

In the rest I agree too.

But maybe Löw wants to play a 4-4-2 again. Let's hope we have a good start into the match and that means, don't receive an early goal. If that will be happen I'm pretty sure we will win the match.

I believe that the german Strikers are not on form. Loew should pick a 4-2-3-1, system with only one true striker and that should be Kiesling, with Muller, Ozil and Schweinsteiger as the 3 Offensive Midfielders. Ballack and Rolfes can keep the Defensive Midfield clean. Als Lahm should play left and Friedrich on the right back.

    Dude, you're welcome! ;)

I suppose that the  was due to the fact that nobody here knows that guy named "Kiesling". I bet that even the FCN fans - except for you - don't know him. :))

I am not rooting for Kiessling due to the fact that he used to be FCN, just the fact that he gets goals should speak for himself. Anyway as said maybe old Klose will get lucky again (luckiest German striker ever) and or Gomez (unluckiest German player ever) and put one in the net for us......

No. Löw just can't be that crazy to let a new striker *start* against Russia who has absolutely no bond to the team yet. And even worse, Thomas Müller - a 20-year old shall debut against Russia in the most important World Cup qualifying game? Come on. I'm absolutely pro giving youth a chance. But what we need in this game is experience.

    I share your opinion.

My "Kiesling/Kießling" reference was meant rather jokefully. ;)

We do not have a real DM, and either one of Hitz or Rolfes may start.

But who do u guys prefer? I think Ballack n Schweini are going to be two important players in the central midfield. That leaves one place for Rolfes/Hitz unless Loew is stupid enough to play Schweini at RW again. Schweini is playing so well at CM this season!

    If we play a 4-1-2-2-1(no #10):

    Adler(Why not Neuer?)- Friedrich,Westermann, Mertesacker,Lahm - Rolfes/Hitz - Ballack, Schweini - Oezil, Podolski - Klose

    4-2-1-2-1 (With #10):

Adler - Friedrich, Westermann, Mertesacker, Lahm- Ballack, Schweini - Oezil - Trochowski, Podolski - Klose

Both look good but i think the first formation emphasize more defense and i will go with such a formation against a team like Russia.

Don't think Kheidra will start anytime soon. Rolfes is doing sooo well in the league atm.
