Does anyone know when the list of fixtures will be released for the groups in all of the regions that has just been decided?

I think that the country venue has only (except of course for South America) been set for the first two series for CONCACAF.... The draw regulations said that the first country pulled from the bowl would get the home match first. So, as it is set out in the FIFA site, so the home/away venue will be arrange. For example, since Grenada is placed first , it has the home venue on February 18 and Guyana has the home venue on March . The winner has the home venue on June 12 or 13, and the USA has return match on June 19 or 20

According to the WC 2006 regulations, the relevant provisions found at pages 13 and 14 of:

    http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/releases/en/fwc_regulations_2006_en.pdf

,it's up to the National Associations "concerned" to set the dates by February 1, 2004, and inform the FIFA orgnzng Cmte, and each single association is to set the venue at least two months before the match is to be played, and so inform the same committee. If there is a disagreement between the National Asociations, the Committee (not the Confederation) is to decide. The kick-off times are to be given to the opposing association and FIFA a month before the match. Of course, it's difficult for National Associations to sort out groups by themselves, so I expect this is actually done under the auspices of the Confederations.

I therefore think that a final list won't be given until about the first week of February, but once the Associations agree, then informal schedules will start to appear.

In the case of the Canada -Belize series in June, for example, the CSA website has unofficially indicated that as a result of discussions with the Association in Belize (probably in Frankfurt over schnapps) the first match (drawn for Canada) will be Sunday, June 13 (date set) , but the venue to be decided later (there will be some complication over the choice of one of many venues that will take time to sort out). The return match (drawn for Belize) will be at the National Stadium in Belize on either June 19 or 20 (date yet to be set).

There may be some arguing over the venues given facilities and climate. Expect some argument over places like Matzenlengo (sp?) in Guatemala being used again, or Canada in the colder months. When England and Turkey couldn't agree on venues and dates for the last EuroCup qualifiers, it had to be arbitrated by UEFA committee.

Perhaps we can use this thread so that posters can inform all of us of developments in the different regions (ie: Crowdie telling us when and where the first Groups for Oceania are scheduled).

Ok thanks a lot beachesl. I knew about the CONCACAF first round and about some of the dates, just wasn't sure about the other regions. I believe Asia starts in February too, and Oceania begins in March. So I guess we'll have to wait a couple of months before we get some fixture listing.
