my friend had something come up and had to bail on this game so I have an extra ticket now in the supporters section 24 now, face value for anyone who needs a single.
US Soccer handed out blankets at yesterday's Insiders Lounge. We will probably stand on them to insulate the cold concrete or metal from our boots. My feet got pretty cold last night standing on the cold, wet and salted concrete. Otherwise, I was fine. I am going to add a (not yet purchased) balaclava to my wardrobe for the frigid Twin Cities.
Attire is set. Long underwear? Check. Gloves? Check Balaclava? Check US Soccer beanie? Check Hand/toe warmers? Check Wool socks? Check Cheesehead that I'll be wrapping in spare AO bandanas? Check
Bought this last week. Tried it at Columbus and worked well. Another test run tomorrow in Hamilton. I was nice and toasty.
My son and I each ended up getting tickets, so we have two we can’t use. Same was true in Columbus. Ticketmaster won’t let you lower the price below face value so there’s little chance our extras in St Paul will sell, especially with the weather forecast. If anyone needs a couple of tickets PM me.
My curiosity fueled glance at Ticketmaster taught me that US Soccer or Ticketmaster has dropped the ticket prices for this match with loads of never sold tickets at $85. We are preparing to shiver through what is now effectively a must win match. I am shopping for balaclavas later today. If the US loses or ties, some heads should roll for this bizarre venue choice.
Well here is hoping I’ll be able to fly home on Thursday. Sounds like a hell of a storm is coming through the Midwest. It’s not threatening MSP thankfully for everyone else looking to go home, but appears that Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio are in for a lot of snow. Hoping to not be stuck till Friday but I Guess it’s not the end of the world.
Night before is packed. Going to be a hell of a home field advantage. Come find the ATL crew on the 2nd floor if y’all are around.
I had a 2 leg trip. United cancelled the 2nd leg which was Chicago to Detroit. So I just decided to wait and will stay in MN with family another day rather than try and rent a car and drive in uncertain conditions from Chicago to Detroit. Glad they didn’t wait till I made it to Chicago to tell me my 2nd flight was cancelled.
Yeah that would have sucked. Currently my Delta flight to Columbus is still listed as on time but Delta's site is down right now so who knows.
Columbus is probably (maybe?) gonna be fine. Doesn’t look like it’s getting cold enough to snow any meaningful amount till Thursday morning. By then it might just be flurries.
I had two friends who had to cancel last minute so I have two GREAT seats available for the game tonight. Section 32 right at midfield! Let me know.
We arrived this morning. I am writing this post from the Central Library. The weather is manageable. My biggest problem is that the balaclava causes my glasses to steam up. I think I'll solve that issue by game time. Frontier cancelled our flight from SFO to DEN just short of two weeks ago. Originally, we had a red eye with a connection on to MSP. I rebooked us on the cheap Frontier flight from DEN to MSP and added a Southwest flight from Oakland to Denver that arrived around midnight. So we ended up with an overnight 7 hour layover at Denver airport. We quickly discovered an area dedicated to in airport sleeping with three styles of couches and chairs for people like us. I am sure it will be much colder at the stadium. I hope the blanket as pad strategy succeeds.
Flight cancelled for this morning but they put me on one at 7p. I am not upset with that. And wow! Survived all three games of the Tundra Tour and some incredible memories
