I am optimistic about this one. I think we can win. The crowd energy should help the team out, we are due for a win against these guys and they are due for their first loss of the qualifying tournament. We just need to score some goals and play with confidence.
I'd go with: -------------------Ospina--------------- Munoz----Mina----Cuesta--------Mojica --------------Barrios------Uribe--------------- ----JuanFer-------------------------Diaz---------- ------------------Roger-----Duvan----------------
A totally different lineup could be: -------------------Ospina--------------- Munoz----Mina----Davinson-------Tesillo --------------Barrios------Lerma--------------- ----JuanFer-------------------------Sisterra---------- ------------------Roger-----Duvan---------------
I would play 4-4-1-1, with Roger on the Right and Juan Fer more free to roam behind Zapata. Not sure if I'd start Sinisterra over Diaz, but then you could bring in Lucho for the second half to create chaos on that side.
I am not sure Sinister would start over Diaz either but he did in Paraguay which was the second match of the triple date so I am wondering if Rueda might do it again a month later. There's also a chance both of them may play together with Sinisterra playing the Cuadrado role.
Munoz----Mina----Cuesta--------Mojica --------------Barrios------Cuellar--------------- ----Sinisterra-------------------------Diaz---------- ------------------Quintero ---------------------------Duvan----------- I think I'd like to see something like this, we need some form of a midfield who can progress the ball and I think Cuellar and Quintero are the best we have to do that. Quintero can switch with Sinisterra or Diaz when we have the ball and let those two make runs behind, think Davinson for Cuesta is fine but Cuesta does give us a ton more on the ball and that helps us alot. Uribe kind of goes missing too often, having someone like Cantillo as an option would be nice but alas we got 5 6's and an 8 who doesn't really want a lot of possession in Uribe.
Cantillo needs to get consistent playing time at Corinthians before he is considered. And even then I am not sure he is on the radar for Rueda.
That's prob what I'd do ... Which means Rueda is likely not to... Either way a serious bummer to not have called Muriel or anyone when Borja got hurt. If whoever starts gets injured or God for bid a red card, we'll be really short for options against Ecuador. I'm torn on what to do with Duvan - you start him and he could break his duck at any point and have flood gates open or sub him one more to ease pressure after last match. If he doesn't go, I'd think Roger would be next to start in such a formation with Borja and Muriel out...
We have never seen Duvan play with JuanFer from the start in an official match. I want to see it happen tomorrow.
When it comes to lineups the only thing I am concerned about is the dreaded 3 man defensive minded midfield. Now Rueda has not done it since the Argentina WCQ match so maybe he learned his lesson but I still have that feeling he is considering it. Something like Barrios-Uribe-Lerma. Or Barrios-Balanta-Lerma. I would just pound my fist into my couch if I see anything resembling that sorta midfield.
I know you love your "hot takes" and I would not give up on him as a bencher BUT if Duvan does not score in the next two matches I may be on the give up on Duvan starting train. He has to step up. Borja when healthy is the guy but other than that there's either way too old options or way too inexperienced / unproven guys at 9. Yes, I know many people want to see Muriel at 9 but I just do not see that happening. Heck, he may not be a bench option any time soon based on the Copa.
Google is forecasting thunderstorms and rain all day tomorrow... Really frustrating if weather becomes a factor.
Latest weather update is 40-50% chance of rain. No thunderstorms though so there should not be any delays.
Latest rumored lineup: -------------------Ospina--------------- Munoz----Mina----Davinson-------Tesillo --------------Barrios------Uribe--------------- ----JuanFer-------------------------Diaz---------- -----------Santos Borre---Falcao---------------
haha so worst LB and same shit offense who didn’t have 1 shot at goal? Juan Fer …. Would have preferred Sinisteria
As you know I am far from the biggest Tesillo fan but he has some defensive abilities that could be useful in this match when compared to Mojica. Offensively we never play well in Uruguay so the offense should look a bit better and comfortable. Sinisterra could still start. This is just a rumored lineup.

If we go with Falcao and Borre who did not take or even set up a single shot between them in 60 minutes two days ago we have a complete moron for a manager.
JuanFer could provide better service though and did not start in Uruguay and the game is at home so the context is a bit different.
60 minutes playing with two forwards, the context is different for sure but the weakness of two forwards that neither one will run behind and just the ability to generate offense and chances is still the same. If you're playing a two forward system you're relying on them to generate offense for your team, if you're a single 9 its a little different but we're sacrificing numbers in midfield hypothetically to get more offensive power who can generate chances/goals, and that was far from happening.
