Let us refrain from anything that is not GROUB B related. Cant wait for the next games this november. Iran still needs to play the weakest t team in the group. I think its going to be though for them playing against the UAE but if f*** up again like before by letting someone just run through their defense then there doomed. i never really understood why they try to defend considering the fact that they suck at defence, and the saudi seems to have the same problem. For the saudi vs. republic of korea game, if korea can contain the flanks then they would control the game. the saudies dosent have any good playmaker at the moment so they would definitely would try to attack on the wing, and if they can rattle the weak saudi defeence they have a preety good chance. I HOPe saudi wins though... 2-1 saudi arabia.
I disagree with your assessment of the S.Korea vs. Saudi Arabia matchup. I don't think the Koreans will gain much by containing the flanks. Firstly, the Saudis attack and score primarily through the center of the field. Secondly, the Saudi team has excellent chemistry, and it seems as though any combination of players on that team can weave together a number of deadly, attacking passes. Therefore, a traditional "playmaker" is not an absolute necessity for the Saudis, as their team can effectively create plays anywhere on the pitch. In any case, I think Atef and Shalhoub are pretty effective playmakers. NOTE: a playmaker can indeed be found on the wings. I don't know why so many people assume that a playmaker must be in a CM role...? C.Ronaldo, anyone? I am very much looking forward to this match. I don't think either team has a strong defense, but Saudi Arabia's attack is probably stronger than S.Korea's. I think S.Korea will have a great deal of trouble keeping up with the Saudi attack. I predict 2-1 or 2-0, Saudi Arabia.
I don't think that this is a realistic scoreline or even 5-0 to Iran is unrealistic... Remember, Iran is playing against UAE in UAE and now, UAE is under no pressure as they are not the favourites anymore so, I believe that this will make UAE team win the match against Iran probably as there will be no pressure on them as such in the first 2 matches and on the other hand, Iran will be in a lot of pressure to get the maximum 3 points from this game as Iran has every thing to play for ... I think we will see some history making in this game and who knows what can happen .... I am predicting a 1-0 victory for UAE !!!
I respect your opinion, but I think your logic is off... Yes, Iran is playing in UAE and UAE is under very little pressure. Therefore, both Iran and UAE will be playing for the WIN. In an almost identical scenario a few months ago, Iran beat UAE 1-0, in UAE. One should also note that Iran is much stronger now than they were a few months ago. The fact of the matter is all-in-all, Iran is a stronger team than UAE, and if both teams are aiming for the win, it's very likely that Iran will prevail. Since UAE has nothing to lose, they will surely attack fearlessly, which will open up many scoring opportunities for the Iranians, who can really take advantage of UAE's weak defense. On the other hand, Iran never plays well against weak teams in important matches! I predict 1-0 or 2-1, Iran.
dude you're delusional. Iran will be playing at home as far as I'm concerned. UAE Is crawling with Iranians
uae has never scored a single goal on iran. pretty crazy prediction there. on the other hand, its been a long time since we win by 3/4 goals against semi decent teams like UAE so i expect a one or two nil.
I agree, Iran is a much stronger team than the UAE, and they will most likely win 1 - 0 or 2 - 0. However, note that Iran does tend to play weak in the early stages of tournaments and such, especially against weaker teams.
They are, answer is below. that is true, but that would require both the wingers ^ to move to the center leaving the mid wing open for korean plays, everyone does defending work even the forward do. yes, both of them are not good at defence, but the saudi's still is inferior to the koreans in term Of D, I think alot of times those saudi CB should thank aziz and khariri, and you know what i mean by that.
when were UAE ever favourites? and again why will Iran be under alot of pressure? infact UAE is going to be under the most pressure because if they don't win they are pretty much out of the qualifying. Your assesment is funny.
Please, respect each other opinion, telling his assessment funny would only lead to another hated and group b non related discussion. I do agree with the you on UAE not being the favorites though, If anything they were favorites to not qualify.
Why are you so rude? Dude, if you can't respect other people's opinions (last thread where you got into spewing match with Sah_Pactwinner) and also, if you are arrogant (i.e. from starting that Karimi is greatest playmaker thread), leave this board. Seriously, we don't need sh*t-starting, grow some manners and mature. The only thing funny is your attitude, grow up! If you can't be respectful, get out of a forum (which is community-based; means more than one person is involved), articulate your opinions respectfully and thoughtfully. You, Nimroo, Sah, Laith are the most immature members and disrespectful, biased posters on this board.
Hey i may be biased but i present facts and i'll just leave it with that. And i don't want to get into what kind of member Sahand is, because that would be like opening a can of worms.
